What club(s) did you hit and were completely blown away by, good or bad?

TL;DR: NLG 902's are the best overall irons I've ever hit. In my opinion, nothing compares to a flushed shot with my PXG Gen2's, but unfortunately for me, flushed shots aren't as common an occurrence as I would like. My NLG 902's feel almost as good on flushed shots, but they feel and perform better than anything else I've hit on every other shot. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

Longer response:

I just had an iron fitting and thought I was going to fall in love with new clubs (I really wanted to), but I did not. It just reaffirmed the love I have for my current gamers.

During the fitting, I hit: Srixon 785, Honma 747 V, Titleist T100, Epon AF-Tour CB, Apex Pro 19, Mizuno JPX 919 Tour, and the W/S FG Tour V6.

Nothing compared to my NLG 902's. I was really hoping to like the Epon's, but they just didn't do it for me.

718 ap2. I had bought the t200. Someone offers me cash for them so I sold them. Found a set of new ap2 for sale with kbs tour shaft. I was hooked. Great irons.

I’m going to go old school. The Yonex EZone type 380 was a great club. I vividly recall hitting it at Fairway golf for the first time. I bought it on the spot.

More currently, I love my P7TW. Solid feel and a great look at address.

Epic flash 5 wood with a 3 wood hzrdus smoke shaft. I was testing every 3 Wood there was trying to replace my i15 that was dead.

Roll through the session and I was down to the f9 and epic flash. On a whim I asked the fitter to stick the 3 wood shafts into 5 wood heads and WOW! More distance over the 3 wood heads whilst retaining the 5 wood flight. Tried adjusting them down and I could have a lower flight for windy days.

the epic flash got it by a couple of yards and by not having a head the same colour as urine after 2 days dehydration!

Wilson Staff Model blades. Tried them recently at PGASS vs Mizuno MP-20. Absolutely fantastic feel; for me even better than the Mizunos, and I really like the Mizzy feel.

I didn't think a Mizuno blade could actually exceed my expectations, but the MP-20's are unbelievable. They're literally perfect.

Epic Flash Triple Diamond is the bomb! Low spin but not too low. Neutral to slight fade bias with ball flight that is mid-high and penetrating. Forgiveness is excellent.

I had a set of Taylomade 300 Forged a long time ago and recall those blowing me away when I hit them before buying. Best feeling irons I've ever hit. My 2 Adams Super LSP hybrids also. I bought an M2 Tour 3 wood a couple of years ago and went "Wow how in the world does a 3 wood go that far!" Unfortunately that made no sense so I got rid of it.

Most recent was the TS3. What an amazing club it is. Been in the bag for a year.

MP-5's.

Bought them on the spot (after only playing intermittently for the last 10 years) and immediately regretted not selling my DCI Black Oversize+ fifteen years ago. I had no idea what I was missing and probably would have played more with a set that feels this sweet. That said, I just started playing 716 CB's that GG was blowing out and feel like I get more distance and consistency from my less than epic game. Not quite as good feeling but still pretty nice.

Sent the DCI's to my brother in law.

Good: Taylormade P760s. So impressed I just bought 3-PW after getting fit for them. These should last me another 5-10 years depending on how much I am able to play.

Bad: PXG 0311. I've owned three sets of irons, Hogan blades, PXG 0311, and now the Taylormade P760s. The PXG were supposed to be what the Taylormade are now. And they were a huge letdown.

I actually like.my i500s. Strange. I lined them up next to my S55 the other day. Really didn't feel much different. Very shaft dependent I think and whether you hit the middle. I got left/right but almost always crush em. Mishits...not that much different than most ping irons IMO. *Clank*

Anyway G400 LST. Hit one shot on the monitor, and gave my fitter my credit card. Look on his face was priceless...."dude. You smoked that."

"Yeah whatever, here's my money. You'll have that tomorrow, right?"

I despise Vokey wedges. Got fit by the titliest guy (pretty good wedge player) was hitting chips, pitches, sand, flops, etc.

Bought two and threw them in the bag...first full shot I took, I knew - didn't admit it but I knew. Three weeks later after almost snapping one and posting a 87 in a tourney. They were done. Edels have been much kinder.

And blown away by the Edels too. If they fit your swing they are money.

And it has to be said, hitting them in a sim doesn't do it justice. Played alone today in a light drizzle and reasonably mild temps for December, and a pure shot with these is the most satisfying feeling in golf.
