Vessel Player 2.0 Stand Bag

Recommended Posts

I just received my Player 2.0 in White/Navy with 6 way. It looks so slick! I have no issue with the legs, they engage and retract just as intended. The only issue I notice is the binding of clubs when going in and out but it’s no worse than any other bag I’ve had. I personally love the look of this thing and the material cleans with just a wet cloth so I’m not worried about the white getting worn out. Very much recommend!

So did I , but I picked up a 6 way in black and a single strap. I'll be putting it on my Clicgear, I also ordered some custom Robert Mark headcovers.

I love these bags so much, I bought the Gen 1 6 Way Players when they first dropped, and I received the 2.0 Players 6 way for Christmas. My Gen 1 is all White (not the best decision) and the Gen 2 is the matte Grey. Huge improvements on the Gen 2. It's much more stable than the Gen 1. They're both heavy bags in my opinion. 5.5lbs dry weight but once you put clubs, balls, accessories, etc. looking more towards the 10-15lbs. These bags are well made and they last forever. I feel like the Gen 2 has a sturdier base, as my Gen 1 leans a little bit when standing upright. I've become a Vessel Loyalist and I will not be purchasing another brand.

how are the straps on these? i have a Titleist players 4 now that i love the size and weight of, but the straps have always annoyed me. I read all the time the love for the Ping Hoofer straps and finally went and tried them out as a golf store and holy smokes!! never one tangle. that said, i don't care for the color combos or looks of the hoofer. i would like one of the lite stand bags from Vessel but curious on the straps?

I just got my Lite Stand Camo Black yesterday.

It is pretty sweet. Straps do not tangle. I'm moving from a deluxe stadry cart bag by titleist so the amount of gear I had in that bag needed managed.

I love the look and feel of it, just wondering if I should have just done the 14 way Players 2.0 in all black for little easier club organization and a tad more gear real estate.

I only use 12 clubs total on a full bag and when I play minimalist I only use 8 total clubs.

The rangefinder pocket on the Lite Stand Bag does interfere with some real estate in the ball pocket area.

The black camo is a good looking bag. Still debating on exchanging for the 2.0 stand bag. I don't have any experience with the new Hoofer though on straps. I should probably hit a store and take a look as well.

The vessel straps feel padded enough, but I am sure the ping are more padded and I see they have thermo design for less sweating when hot outside.

I got my 2.0 Players Stand Bag in Black the other day. I did the 14 way. No regrets over the Lite Stand bag. I love the Black Camo color way of the Lite stand, but the 2.0 Players in the 14 way is perfect for me. The extra space is well used and the balance is better in my opinion. Fits perfectly on my ClicGear 3.5+ when I want to push and will fit nicely on the back of a cart when I feel like riding. Perfect bag size and weight...even with all 12 to 13 of the clubs I choose to play with.

Great bag!

Congrats. Glad that worked out for you. I do love that black camo on the lite stand tho.

I purchased two of these bags last March for my wife and I. I can vouch that both have those wear marks, but even worse is my wife’s bag as a small tear. She may have played 10 rounds with it last year and none since October. I finally got around to contacting customer service and was told that since it is one week outside the one year warranty period that I am out of luck. That’s my fault. I am not too concerned about that, but they also claimed that the tear/rip could be considered normal wear and tear. Normal wear and tear is not excusable for a bag that claims it is made of durable materials and has only seen daylight 10 times. It is normally stored in a finished basement. I am still in the process of disputing with them but expect to be SOL.

One week outside their warranty period and they're giving you pushback on a bag that's been used very little? That's pretty bad. Hopefully it gets resolved for you.

That's pretty poor. For portraying a 'premium' company, one would think they would stand by their product. I have had many other companies honor a situation where I was just out of warranty (cars, appliances). I'll vote with my money as well and looks elsewhere.

Yeah, that is a surprising and disappointing resolution to your case. I hope someone from Vessel has an idea of the size and breadth of this community, and how word of this will spread. I know their focus is far beyond just golf bags, but it can't be so small as to render consumers opinions irrelevant. I want a Vessel in the worst way, but this has me cooling the proverbial jets.

Have a Navy Lite Stand bag on the way as we speak.  Can't wait to get it.  Been on a hunt for the right bag since March.

As to how you organize a 6-way top, I like more weight lower in the bag.  I play a PW, GW, SW and LW and only a Driver and 3w so this is how I would break it down.

Bottom two:  8/9/PW   and   GW/SW/LW

Middle two: 5/6 iron  and  7/8 iron

Top two: Driver/3w  and  4 iron + putter

I am quite fond of the 6-way dividers.  From top to bottom then left to right:

Driver, 3W& putter

3h & 4i,  - 5i & 6i

7i & 8i - 9i & PW

GW, SW, LW

Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks - let us know how you like that Lite Stand when you get it.  I was eyeing that one as well as the Players 2.0.  Currently playing the Titleist Players 4 StaDry, but not enamored with it so shopping around.

So the Vessel arrived, great looking bag and construction was as strong as advertised.  i can also confirm it is very light though I did not weigh it.  Unfortunately, I am a fairly large human (6’3, 240) and the straps sort of pinched my ribcage once it was fully loaded.  Loved the bag and would have kept it but for that. Not surprising but sort of depressing all the same.  Have ordered and returned a Shapland Sunday bag, Jones Varsity Stand Bag and now a Vessel Lite Stand because I just couldn’t get the straps to work for me for one reason or another.

At this point I’m probably going to wait and see what Ping and Titelist come up with for 2021.

The search continues...

I appreciate the update.  That sucks about the straps because otherwise it sounds like you had the right bag finally.  Good luck on the continuing quest and I hope that 2021 is the year the perfect bag comes along.  Thanks again for the real-world feedback on the bag.

My old lady surprised me with an all black lite stand bag as an early birthday gift. I have to say but it’s extremely sharp and well made. Material definitely feels more expensive than ping/titleist/taylormade bags. Storage is surprisingly more than I expected for an 4.25 lbs luxury bag. No issues with the stand legs which I know people have complained about. It has the same mechanism as ping bags and would imagine a good twist of the wires will keep the legs sturdy. 2 full dividers do the job and don’t have any issues with the smaller top opening. I’m a huge fan of the water bottle pocket. It’s huge and fits my prized Kinto water bottle. Straps are comfortable and make the bag feel way lighter than it actually is. My one complaint is using it as one strap needs getting used to. It slights off if you’re casual with the bag. Nothing overly big a deal.
