Thanks - I've had a few pair of Asics golf shoes over the years and really liked them. I just ordered a pair of the BOA ones after seeing this - it's hard for me to resist the blue/silver color scheme.

I received the Gel Course Duo BOA shoes today and they are really nice. They look way better in person than in the renders above - they look more like sporty traditional golf shoes and less like trainers. They are really comfortable - this is my first pair of BOA shoes so I was unsure what to expect in terms of fit. I've had a few pair of ASICS golf shoes in the past and they all had a really high heel (if that makes sense) - these do not. I'm looking forward to getting them on the course and trying them out.

Those look glorious. I haven't worn Asics in many years. How would you describe the sizing of these... true to size/big/small, narrow/wide, etc?

Pretty true to size, maybe a hair big (slightly long in the toe box). I wear a 13 D - my true size is probably closer to 12.5, but that size is rarely available from most shoe companies. Width on these seems pretty normal. they are very comfortable and feel pretty light on the feet. I picked up a pair of the white with blue logo as well. Here's a top down pic:

  • 5 months later...

Finally got a chance to wear the Gel Course Duo BOA shoes this past weekend. These shoes are really nice. Super comfortable right out of the box with no break-in required, reasonably lightweight, and very stable during the swing. These are my first BOA shoes and I am impressed with the system. I thought it might require continual adjustment during the round, but I was able to set it and forget it pretty much. I've had ASICS golf shoes in the past (a few pair of the Gel Ace shoes) and the Gel Course Duo BOA are much nicer and more comfortable than those, with a much less severe heel drop. I've been wearing the UA HOVR Drive shoes for the last year, and those are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn, and these ASICS are right up there in terms of comfort. I hope people aren't put off by the renders on the Srixon site - these look much better in person and on the foot than they do on the site.

We seem to have the same taste in shoes. To this point, the Hovr Drives are the best fitting(for me obviously) and most comfortable gold shoes I’ve put on my feet. I tried on the Asics Gel Course Duo BOA’s just before the lockdowns and was extremely impressed. The only thing holding me back with them is that they are not advertised to have any water resistance.

I've been rocking the Gel Course Duo BOA for a while now I walk most of my rounds and they have been great! Super comfy and fit great!! I normally wear Footjoy Pro SL and I prefer these.

I love the HOVR Drive shoes - they are really comfortable. My only issue with them is that they are a hair too big on my feet, and the laces tend to loosen up during the round (even double knotted) and I need to retie them once or twice a round.

The Gel Course Duo BOA box does say that they are "waterproof". Here's the link to the Srixon golf shoe warranty info: https://www.srixon.com/us/warranty.html. The waterproof warranty is for 1-year. 2 years would obviously be better, but it's better than nothing.

Was time to get myself another pair of golf shoes.... tried the Adidas Code Chaos laceup, was very comfy but the nice knitted upper seemed like it would be way too flexible for golf, and the toe was going to be too tight in the correct length for me - so back to Asics for me as they've always been the best fit for me and way, way better insole for my feet.

They do look better in person than the ads seem to show... got a pair of the spikeless Course glide in Polar shade/black which are very nice - the black with silver Asics flash also looked good.

I ordered a pair of the Gel Course Duo a couple of months ago and finally got to the try them on the course yesterday. The most comfortable golf shoe I've ever worn! The past few years I've worn FJ Pro SL and DNA. I thought they were reasonably comfortable, but even wearing a wide my foot felt cramped and pinched and I would inevitably have discomfort after a couple of hours. No discomfort at all yesterday while walking 18 in hot, humid conditions. I do agree with others that these look a lot better in person than the photos online. I did have to adjust the boa a couple of times, but I mostly blame that on me...I didn't really tighten them up real tight to start.

Can't really comment much about the waterproofing. The grass was kind of wet yesterday morning but probably not enough to really test out the waterproofing. By about the 4th hole it didn't really matter anyway...I was sweating so much there wasn't anything dry on me.

I do have one minor complaint - there is this flip-flop-esque sound that happens during toe off. I'm chalking it up to maybe I didn't have them laced tight enough along with my foot being super sweaty...maybe it was causing the insole to "flap" a little as I walked. It's only slightly annoying and certainly not enough to make me not wear them, but it was definitely noticeable. I'll see if it's still there after a few more wears. And if it is...well, I'll keep wearing them anyway.

I have the "flip flop" sound as well. It's either the insole or it's that my true size is really a 12.5 and I'm wearing size 13, so they are just slightly too big. Either way it's not a big deal and the shoes are super comfortable, so I'll keep wearing them.

I wear custom insoles in all my regular and dress shoes, and the "flip flop" sound happens every so often. The fix is to simply remove the insole and sprinkle some baby powder/talc into the foot bed, and then put the insole back in. Doing so almost always gets rid of the noise.
