Can I pull the shaft from a 905t and use It in another moderno head?

What exactly are you asking? If you're asking if it can be made to fit, I'm betting it can (since most modern drivers have adjustable adapters that seem to require less insertion depth, I'd guess that your shaft just needs to be cut and prepped). But, one of the fitters here will know for sure. Cutting the shaft will likely change weight/flex/feel properties, but a fitter here will also know whether those characteristics can be recouped.

As for "viability," if that's what you're asking... I recently had a Whiteboard pulled from on old TM Burner TP head, fitted with a TM adapter, and am using it my M1. It's a great combo, and I'm glad I had it done.

Yes it can be done, but the bore through design of the 905 will make it harder to pull the shaft without damaging it. It's hard to get enough heat to break down the epoxy without fubar'ing the shaft. Not a diy job unless you have lots of experience. Find a competent shop. Once you get it pulled, it should be tipped to compensate for the different bottom of bore to ground measurement.

You could, but you will have approx 4" of prepped tip to deal with (that's assuming you can get it out without over heating it and ruining the shaft). Even tip trimming to approx the same length will leave you with plenty of prepped shaft above the new adaptor.

I believe you are incorrect on this. If it is tipped so it plays the same length, the prepping should be roughly appropriate. Minor adjustment might be needed to deal with any difference in the heights of the top of the hosels of the two drivers.

The YS-6+ shaft I am using in my 917 came from a 905.
