Disappointed in Callaway Preowned

Alright, I think I might just have to give up with CPO. My replacement "Like New" Toulon Austin came in and it is... not "Like New." CPO's description of "Like New" is "nearly impossible to differentiate between new." Well, I find this pretty easy:

Again, the pictures don't show the wear nearly as much as it does in person. The leading edge looks like it was dragged on concrete. Arrrrrrrgh.

I've had similar 'like new' experience. I decided to stop ordering from there, not worth the hassle for me. They did eventually refund, but had to call each time to get reimbursed for the shipping labels.

I was actually coming on here to post that I just received an Average set of ‘19 Big Bertha irons that looked like this, and I was not especially pleased. But I just looked back at my order, and these were actually sold as Good condition. I actually paid for the return shipping assuming these were Average, and I would just eat the cost. Out of 5 irons, one was basically totally stripped down to white, and the others looked like crap. I know this is somewhat a function of the terrible Callaway black finish. I doubt a set of Good condition Rogue irons would look like this. Plus, they showed up with midsize grips, which was a new one for CPO. I am batting about .500 on my last several orders with them.

Final update, I did receive my $50 payment for the putter I traded in to Callaway. I thought that was a fair deal because of the ease of sale. I probably could have got more selling it on my own but that's a hassle. All in all I feel satisfied with the entire purchase, I got a brand new putter and traded my old one in for a reasonable price. It took a bit longer than I would have liked because of a hitch or two, but I am satisfied overall.

I bought a set of Apex 19 combo’s in like new condition. They were average at best, lots of chatter & even had a few good songs in the cavity on the badging. I don’t have the pics anymore but Callaway was excellent to deal with the return. Funny thing was when they were put back up on CPO they were listed as average. If the return process wasn’t easy I don’t think I would have considered buying from the site again

Ordered 2018 X-Forged with DG 120 TI S400 last week at 40% discount, received the box few minutes ago with MB irons. Box had correct number on it but label on irons was different stock number. I had an issue with them couple months ago with Apex Pro irons being sold as "very good" condition but had severe bending marks on the hosels.

They have not replied to my emails yet.

Sorry to hear that. I would just call them--dial the 1-800 number, and press 2 for CS. Surely quicker and more direct than e-mail.

I've purchased five "like new" clubs from them and have sent four of them back. Three of them were beaten up beyond belief and the one putter came beaten up, had the wrong grip, was the wrong length, and had a different neck than the one I was supposed to get. They're always great about returns but I don't order from them anymore because I got tired of sending everything back.

Just received my most recent order from CPO for a set of irons and it’s in amazing condition. Listed as like new but it’s brand new, looks like it was a custom order returned.

Wished it was that easy for me as I can't use the phone due to my hearing loss. I had my club pro call for me so all is good now.

Those are couple issues that I mentioned BUT I've been happy with other shipments from them. I will only order Outlet, Like New or Very Good clubs from them.

All good--glad you got it sorted out. I just received yesterday a set of Rogue Pro irons in "Good" condition that I would classify as "Very Good". My last set of irons from them was also "Good" condition and I wouldn't have considered them "Average". Still very hit and miss with CPO, but I keep going back to them when they have their solid sales.

That is true but I would say that we are more often lucky with their stated condition ratings than not.

Heck, I"m gonna buy couple clubs from them now. Lmao!

I ordered a new shaft for my GBB Epic driver from CPO, an Aldila Quaranta adjustable, on 1/28/20. It arrived today, 1/31/20 just 3 days from the time I ordered it to the time UPS delivered it to my front door. It was exactly what I ordered and it is a brand new shaft as Callaway says they do not sell used shafts for golf clubs. It is such a simple way to get a new shaft for your driver. I opened the box and inserted it on to the club head in a matter of seconds. I was thinking of ordering a shaft and epoxying a new adapter myself but when I seen these on Callaway pre-owned I could not pass it up. Actually, they have many of their shafts on sale and you can pick up some fair deals there. Great service by CPO!

Disappointed in the condition of a couple like new clubs again this week. Worth the risk with the prices during this sale, but it's frustrating to have this experience time after time. Could probably live comfortably for the rest of my life on the amount they have to be losing on shipping because they can't accurately assess club condition.

Bought a "Like New" Toulon from their eBay store and it came with the wrong grip listed (SS Mid Slim 2.0 instead of Pistol GT Tour) but it came with a new head cover even though the listing said not available, so that's a bonus. It still had the factory stickers on the grip but shows minor "shop wear" chatter marks on the top line and around the head. I removed all stickers and wiped the head clean and it looks a little better. Unfortunately the satin finish really shows any scratches. Not a huge deal, and I'll use it as is. I reached out to them via eBay asking if they could send me a Pistol GT Tour grip and they instructed me to call their CS. I spoke with a rep who said they don't stock grips at all and a partial refund wasn't an option (was gonna ask for $20) so it'd have to be a full return. Oh, well. Gave it a shot.

So looking at a Callaway 4 hybrid that is approximately $15 higher than the 3 hybrid in the same condition, same shaft and contacted a CPO rep about this and the response I got was the difference in price was based on inventory. I said that this doesn't really make sense to me and I got complete silence after that. Someone tell me how this makes sense? You certainly wouldn't see that in a golf shop so why the case with CPO.
