I built the set with my modus 120 pulled from a set of 790 and the spin is a little frightening in the short irons. Seemed to be getting great numbers on the monitor at golf galaxy but then went to sport stable over the weekend and the monitors there showed REALLY high spin. Like near 10k on a 9 iron. I need to hit them outside to confirm but may end up needing to change shafts to get the right numbers.

Who thinks there is any chance for golf on Saturday or Sunday? Am I crazy? How does it look north of Denver?

It seems like there’s more snow the further north you go.....I’m in Loveland and there’s not much hope here. Denver seems like it’ll be melted sooner.

You're probably going to have to head south. Four Mile Ranch in Canon City and the Pueblo courses (Walking Stick, Desert Hawk) should be open. All are very cheap in the winter. Four Mile Ranch is well worth the drive down; although, I have no idea on current conditions. Maybe Colorado Springs too.

I’d give almost anyone else the benefit of the doubt. I think he’s a complete cry baby and I don’t like his attitude at all so I’m in the camp that he did it totally on purpose and then tried to blame it on camera angles? Are you kidding me?

Meh. It's such a non-issue. No amount of backswings (intentional or not) would've created a decent lie behind the ball so he could save par. If he hadn't shanked his approach shot, he wouldn't have been in this mess in the first place.

Reed has now guaranteed that every move he makes, on the course, will be on camera.

Anyone playing before the next round of weather hits? I got a 10:10 at Riverdale. Didn't think I'd play again until I got AZ, so I'm glad I'll get some swings in.

How did Riverdale look? Still a lot of snow on the course? I played Walnut today for a quick nine and there is still a lot of now out there but I didn't think any courses would be open again for a while, so I was just happy to get out. I guess they've been open since this past weekend.

Legacy Ridge got less snow than Walnut. I went over on Sunday to hit balls and was surprised to see they were open. No snow on any fairways or greens and didn't see anybody on the course till the last hole.

There's a bit out there, but nothing that affects playability in any way. I found a few patches, but it's definitely playable out there without issue. Ground is firm and the greens are pretty grainy, so I was having a little trouble with speed, but I played well enough, considering I was coming back from a month plus layoff.

Okay.....so looks like Kiawha Island has a few openings still for Villa and ocean course end of FEB. Any interest? Trying to put a 4 some together.

I wish. We’re going to Sun Valley the week before. Add in that I’m driving to Phoenix tomorrow and staying thru the 2nd, then driving back and getting on a flight to Doha on the 4th and don’t get home until Feb. 5 and that makes for a little too much time out of my own bed.

Oh man. I always go with some other guys to either Florida, Texas or Arizona every year after President's day weekend (going back to San Antonio in 2020). The family probably wouldn't appreciate me doing that two weeks in a row.

All good. Honestly it was shocking when we called to see if they had slots open still and specifically for the Ocean Course.....or at least 2 of the 4 rounds.. Edit: Have to see how this plays out.... push comes to shove and I will end up with an "Eye" problem and go solo. Eye problem being "I cant see myself coming into work for a few days"

Anyone got anything scheduled for Sunday early afternoon or Monday? I'm leaning toward South Suburban as it's where I grew up playing and near my parents house, but willing to drive a bit to meet up or go where there isn't snow...

 

I'm heading down the hill Sunday morning and it looks like the weather these next few days is pretty nice; lots of mid-50s!

 

Is there any or a lot of snow on the ground?

Super cool. I wish we golfed with dogs here in the States like folks do in the UK.

 

Weather's beautiful here in Phoenix. Got five rounds on the books over the next two weeks. Super pumped!

Only played one round in Phoenix, Southern Dunes, end of September, nice course with too many sand traps. Local said they got rid of a bunch of traps when the course sold to the Ak-Chin tribe. One of the hottest temps we've played in, glad they had water bottles all over the course. Would love to play is overseeded as the Bermuda was dry so it was hard to stop the ball.

Southern Dunes is a wonderful course. Looking forward to playing it next weekend.
