TXG tested 6 of the lowest spin, launch and higher ballspeed players drivers out now.

Titleist was tied for or was the lowest spin of the bunch. Had one of the highest ballspeeds also. Will the talk of Titleist drivers being "too spinny" stop now? They also mentioned fitting more players into the TS3.

It seems Titleist addressed and fixed their spin issues. I'm not in the market for a new driver. If I were this would be the first driver I'd look at.

I haven't heard that kind of talk since the TS line game out. I don't think Titleist ever had "spin issues", just that fetishization of the lowest possible spin started taking over the market, and I still maintain that super low spin is bad for the average Joe. That said, the TS3 was a massive departure for Titleist in terms of CG location and its no surprise to me that it performed the way it did. The TS3 and the ST190 are pretty similar with the former being slightly higher MOI and slightly lower CG. Overall a really good design that I hope Titleist continues building off of with the next line.

Lots on this site claim Titleist are too spinny. I have used mostly Titleist drivers for my gold life. I think with the right shaft for each person they are as good as any.

How is your silver life compared to the gold one? I jest. Woods increased his spin rate to 2800 and has never driven the ball better.

The TS line is the only line of Titleist drivers that I've considered playing. I've always had issues with too much spin from them, and a few other golfers that I know have had the same issues until this line as well. The TS3 with the Evenflow T1100 White gave me the numbers that I was looking for on ballspeed, launch and spin.

They should have used the Titleist TS4 not the TS3...……..

“TS drivers have exceeded all our expectations both on TOUR and with golfers around the world,” said Josh Talge, Vice President of Marketing, Titleist Golf Clubs. “When it comes to driver performance, TS has shown that it’s no longer a one- or two-horse race.”

 

However, the company says there remains certain players who can improve their driving performance with the TS4. The new TS4 driver is an “ultra low-spin” design, which Titleist says will produce about 300 rpm less spin compared to its current models. This product is reminiscent of the 915D4 drivers that were a low-spin option in the 915D-series of drivers.

I wound love to game the ts3 but it's just too boring for me. I don't want something crazy looking but a shiny black crown with basically nothing else just doesn't do it for me.

 

Out of the lot, the mizuno looks the best to me. Simple, elegant but still has that modern sleek look. I'm slowly becoming a full bag mizzy fanboi.

D3 series typically spun more than other OEM's "low spin offerings", TS3 does not. That's why there's been no one complaining they are too spinny until you started this thread.
