Yup I've had a chance to play them on a freezing cold day in Ottawa - October the 4th. It was so cold that I wasn't hitting it great - but I found they performed well with short irons and on the greens. I was a little wild off the tee with them though - they seemed to be a little spinny off the tee. But the guy I was playing with hit them straight and long. I was playing the MTB-x.

Order placed. I played a round with my group yesterday and they were commenting on my excellent drives off the tee. My short game was in the toilet. But, off the tee I was really doing well. This ball sure seems like part of the improvement lately. My first round with the X I thought it may have been just a fluke.

Just took advantage of the Black Friday sale and got 1 dozen of MTB-X and 1 dozen of BLACK. Hope to see if I can spot any differences inside 150 yards, since it sounds like that's where you will see the most difference between the two (based on a Snell interview)

I grabbed two dozen MTB-X using the Black Friday special. Unfortunately the weather here in Delaware is such that I will only be playing sporadically until the Spring.

Yeah, both are excellent inside 150, really. I don't get the excess spin on the X with those clubs that some seem to report. Not at all. The problem is my swing and my brain...haha. I don't spin the X back on the green, but have with the black, for whatever reason. Both are darts, though, for me.

played the black yesterday and really liked it. Not as much spin as the X. I was only able to suck it back 2 to 3 feet on a couple of shots. Mainly it bounced straight up in the air and stopped. No sucking it back off the green this time. I gave the rest of the X's to my father. He is a low ball flight, Low swing speed, low spin player. They worked great for him. He was one hop and stopping everything even off his hybrid. His ball flight was a little better too because the ball was spinning a little more. He didn't have any of those ball flights where it looks like a bird shot out of mid air

I find the MTB-X to be just as good as a ProV. There are so many good choices at half the price of the big guys.

Recently got 2 doz more MTB-X balls for next year. Can't really use them in the late fall/ winter months in New England. Between plugged balls, leaves etc it's too easy to lose balls so I'd rather play with the Get Sum when it gets too cold. And unfortunately there's no golf right now due to snow cover. I'm starting to have withdrawal.

I'm not sure I understand why someone drives an Audi instead of a VW either. Is it worth 3 or 4 times the cost to get from here to there? People are susceptible to marketing, people are susceptible to image, some people pay large incremental additional costs for very small differences in performance.

LOL, I particularly chose two brands made by the same manufacturer, and who offer some very similar models. I also drove a (bought used) Audi for 9 years. I really wasn't talking completely different types of driving experience.

Just messing with you...I had an Audi for many years (and many dollars in repairs), Had a VW GTI for a little while too...the GTI was alot of car for the money...I preferred it.

I'll speak for myself, and a few of my friends who have been converted, thanks to Snell Golf for offering excellent golf balls at excellent prices. I was lucky enough to review the original MTB in 2016, and the MTB-X this past spring for that other website. I've been a satisfied customer for 3 years now, and see no reason to even think about changing.
