How many Golf Balls

Normally I carry 3-4 new sleeves and an undetermined number (from 10 to as many as 50) of used or found balls loose in my bag. This time of year in NJ the leaves are everywhere including a few in the fairway and playing a solo practice 9 holes last Sunday between the leaves and angle of the sun I lost 8 balls. If the weather cooperates I will empty out most of the loose balls from my bag before I pack it in for the cold weather.

In my Sunday bag, never more than 5..maybe a few more if I'm "testing" between 2 models (example: Q-Star Tour vs AVX, or ProV1 vs V1x) but never more than 9. In my regular bag I typically keep 9-12. Again, maybe more if I'm "testing" or have found some premium balls on the course.

The AVX was the first yellow urethane ball Titleist sold in the USA. More than a few of their surlyn covered balls have been available in yellow and orange going back to the early 1980's.

 

To answer the topic usually 12-15 balls.

I usually have two new sleeves in my bag before I play, then I have some extras from the previous rounds I played. It ends up being around 10 balls.

I check my bay the night before every round, usually a dozen. But if I'm playing difficult or new course, I'll add a few more.

My count for lost balls this year was 119. When one plays in the Mexico or Florida ones doesn't go looking in the jungle or ponds. Just Saying....

Have no idea how many. I don't pay much attention to it other other than to make sure that there are a few fresh gamers in there @ any given time. Probably 18-24 if had to guess. Used up gamers stay in there for pre-round short game warm ups.

Home course in the wet season 8-10 misc. balls as theu plug. Home course in the summer maybe 6 Prov1s. Ne w course or cpurse with lots of troube I might carry more.

I usually have 18 balls in the bag. The main ball pocket (top front) has lose balls: 3 new balls and 3 used / water balls (in case I am having a bad day). I also keep a full dozen in the side pocket. Last year I played 2 brands so the dozen was a mix but as of this post, they are all the same brand and color.

Apparently I am incorrect. I played in a couple tournaments where you were allowed only 12 balls/rd and assumed that was according to the RoG, but there is no such stated maximum listed there.

I think I counted 23 when I cleaned up my bag for the end of the season. There are a few sleeves of colored balls, some various balls I've picked up on the course, and some other odds and ends. The quest for the perfect ball for me continues, one sleeve at a time. I've learned that Vice aren't for me, e6's are better for me than V1's, and that Noodles were better for me as a Maxfli product. But, all 4 are floating 'round my bag, in varying states of used, with a smattering of freshies still in the box.

This year I started with a fresh 24 pack of Kirkland balls in the bag and usually maintain that number by adding found balls to replace the lost balls

when i go out with a sleeve or two I always seem to end my round playing something i found on the course. :)

Yup, this is where I'm at---I like a light bag. I tend to keep three-five, tops.

I'm in the two sleeve camp. It might go up to 7-8 if I've splashed a couple and empty a new sleeve into the bag. I also started carrying one yellow ball for hitting a provisional. It comes in handy when you find your two balls relatively close together and one has a distinctly better lie....I can't remember, did I hit the Bridgestone 1 first or was it the B3?

Too many. Hard to pull brand new premium balls out that I find, even when they're not a brand I play.

Right now I have 3 TP5/X, 2 KSig 4pc, 5 Prov1/x, 2 FG Tour, 2 Tour B Rxs, and a couple of Chrome Soft.

I need to clean things up.

I usually carry 3 or 4 balls. In the balata days I carried a dz. and changed balls every 4 to 5 holes. I used to like Spaulding Dots and that cover was so thin they would sometimes cut a little even on a good strike. Anything even a little thin and they would cut all the way to the windings!

I always make sure I start with 8. It is the greatest number of balls that I lost in any round of golf over the last 5 years.

I do usually have more, as I find them laying around pretty frequently.

8 “game” balls and 2 “water” balls.

50% of rounds are finished with more balls than I started with due to found balls.

Mentally, not sure I could get off the first tee with less balls at my disposal!
