Will Someone Please Explain Why This Cheap Ball Works So Good For Me???? (Costco Callaway Hex)

Not Far From Par

  • 4 weeks later...

I found a Tour Soft on the course and used it for fun to take the short cut over water on a dog leg. Made it for the first time! I played the ball for the next few holes and made the 18th par 5 in 2 for my first time ever. I like them, like them a lot!. I found this thread while trying to find out the price, wow they are cheap too!!

If it didn't feel like I was hitting a rock with the putter, I would play Callaway Warbird exclusively. I don't care as much about the spin around the greens because I hit the ball 10 miles in the air anyway. If anybody has used these, would you say the ball characteristics are similar to Warbird only softer? If so, I might have to try them out. Also, the Srixon AD333 was a great ball back in the day for me.

I've been told by a very reliable source that "The Hex Tour Soft is actually a really good ball". Closest in performance to it would be the Superhot, both being 3pc Surlyn.> @Hellstorm said:

As soon as I figure that same question out with my remaining Wilson 50 Elite, I'm going to try these out and see if I can answer yours. To my best guess it just seems that sometimes the swing matches the ball so well, it doesn't matter how much the ball sold for.

I haven't been playing much lately, as work has been my main focus...

Long story short, I have sales #'s to hit before fiscal year ends (12/27/19)

Will be a cool $10k if I can achieve it (should be no problem)

BUT... I did play yesterday in an annual fundraiser the course does, & STILL love this ball..

Even my buddy is still playing it, whom I mentioned in my original posts...

Great ball for the price, & I will be loyal to it until it's not available!

(I will be slowly hoarding)

Don't worry Ron... I still own the 5-wood.... It's up on the mantle doing it's best impression of wall art

Like this ball better than the Ksig and K3, so I just took 2 boxes back today. So if your in Naperville there a box of Ksigs in the store somewhere. lol!

As for the Callaway Tour Soft, I would compare them to the Callaway Hex Softs that Costco had a few years ago. They work well around the greens and seem to be straighter than the K3's. I also would put then up against Titilist Tours Soft,

I just bought a couple boxes this morning($14 off), to be shipped. Then I walked into the Naperville store and there is(was) a pallet sitting on the floor. Grabbed my order again then off to the service desk to cancel the online order. I'm go to go for 2020.

I'm still using, & loving these balls as well...

Haven't a clue as to how many I have left!

But I haven't been playing due to a work priority right now (2 more weeks & should merit a $15k bonus) So I'm a little focused on that...

I know this goes against most WRX'ers... But from top to bottom... Bag is SET for next year!!

The Hex Tour Soft is such a cheap ball that still performs exceptionally well that I use it on holes where there is a lot of trouble and losing a ball is a strong possibility. I may give up just a little in performance but I don't mind losing a ball this cheap compared to a premium ball.

I just came back to golf in January after a 15 year absence. This also includes playing 3-4 courses regularly that id never played previously.

I went from shooting around 95-104 to now shooting 80-85 everywhere I play. I used to shoot around 82-88 before so it took me a few months to get back to my previous level.
