Re Chrome

I am considering having my MP 14's re done. These clubs are used everyday. I'm wondering how or does it effect play ability ? Some of the chrome is coming off the six iron. These clubs are used everyday and I will continue to use them. They are really getting tired looking. I'm not interested in changing irons. This seems to be the only option.

I'm looking for guys or gals who have had clubs redone but actually use them everyday. These are not a showpiece or for display.

Flanigan bilt.

The problem is, some people don't know to ask if a plater uses decorative chrome, which is far less resilient than industrial polished chrome. Their clubs begin to to chip and the finish gets pretty banged up. Flanigan will get you straight.

Rechroming will not affect playability. The heads will come back a few grams lighter than before so plan on adding tip weights or lead tape.

I contacted these people. You have experience with them? What about the iron factory? Many seem to use them also. My real issue is being without my clubs. I use them almost everyday.

Iron factory has been around for a while, but the quality is going downhill quick. Also, it will take forever to get your clubs back, and the communication is non-existent.

Flanigan will likely have your clubs back within 2-3 weeks, and he responds usually within the hour.

Look up Doug Oughton if you're near Sacramento, his website's hard to fond but he does good work as well.

I used KJ refinishing years ago for mp14s. They did a wonderful job.

however from reading reviews he is hit or miss. He use to be cheaper than everyone (real reason i went with them) but his price is about the same as everyone elses now

I'm probably not gonna bother right now. I don't want to be without my clubs for weeks. I use them almost every day. They are my only clubs. I have used them for 22 years.

Call Jim at the Iron Factory. I was in your shoes 6-7 years ago and wanted to rechrome my MP14s, but didn't want to go without. He built me a "new" set of MP14s (rechromed another set of heads and built them to my specs). Cost was reasonable in comparison to purchasing new irons. Continued to play with my set, but was able to replace them with what was effectively a brand new set of mint condition, satin finished MP14s with brand new shafts and grips built to my preferred swing weight, length, loft and lie.

It’s going to cost a fortune, the weight will change to an unknown extent, the friction change will affect your spin rate and launch angle, and you may not get them back for months. And it’s Christmas.

So you really need a new mixed set of MP-20’s .
