Bent tip?

Just acquired some PX 6.0 flighted shafts in a trade.. as I was removing old ferrules from the tips, I noticed the 7i looked a little off at the tip. If I look down the shaft from the butt end and rotate it, the tip looks to wobble a little or oscillate off center.. how much does a shaft tip have to be bent to make a difference? Is a small bend playable? I realize it can throw of specs but I am wondering if anyone finds it in the acceptable range... I took a couple pics and tried to show it...

I know it's not super noticeable this way but if I roll it on a flat surface you can definitely see it... anyone have any input?

Yes it is bent. But very little. If you insert it in the head so that the bend is giving either a little more upright or a little flatter lie, you won’t be able to see it. If you need to, adjust the lie angle to compensate. The shaft should give you plenty of more life in this situation. Of course, if you are really anal, this will drive you nuts and you’ll want to replace all the shafts. I would place it so the bend gave me a slightly more upright situation and move on. But, that’s just me. YMMV.

Thank you. I could probably keep it and install it, but it will be in the back of my mind for sure... I bought a set of Modus shafts instead so these probably will just sit anyway. Just didnt know if this was enough to be concerned about.

Fun fact, in persimmon woods I've seen intentional bend like that to produce desired loft/lie for the persimmon head (way easier than epoxying and reboring). And those bends are way bigger than what you have there. So as far as the integrity of the shaft I think you're fine.

As far as thinking about it and having it bother you I agree it might be unnerving. On the other hand you might not notice? If you're willing to risk junking the shaft you could also try to fix the bend, but thats really difficult down by the tip...

Installed this shaft today, tried to do it so the lie was a little upright... I think it will be fine, but I was more upset that the guy I traded with didn't have anything to say when I confronted him about it. He just said, "it'll work" and has ghosted me ever since. Since we traded I asked if we could just trade back items since I wasn't happy with the bend. Nothing. Asked if he'd be willing to refund me $30.... nothing... Definitely NOT someone I would deal with again, even though it seems the shaft should be ok.
