Was such a smart play. You can see he takes off way left to take himself out of the play, and everyone forgot about him. I mean just a little thing, but ended up making a TD saving tackle because of that angle

Lamar Jackson is having one of the best seasons I have ever seen. I said to some friends recently that he was like if Adrian Peterson could throw like Jared Goff. For some reason they thought that was a slight or not enough of a compliment

To me it was huge praise.... it's like if one of the best runners ever threw like the 15th best passer in the league. He and that Ravens offense is pretty much unstoppable. The only comparable running QB was Vick and he was nowhere close to as sophisticated a passer as Jackson is.

Man, they will be tough to beat

I’m sometimes called a dinosaur? and some guys at the club from Cleveland recently accused me and other Stiller fans of “living in the past,” lolol

Well, they may have a point and I stated that I believe that it is human nature to remember and pine for days gone by, especially when they were glorious days indeed, and outshined the present.

My second comment was that, versus these jerk-offs from the mistake on the lake, at least I and other Stiller fans had a “past” worthy of reliving?

D@mn, whatta past it was, hahaha

JB & the Boys lived for December.....

Brian whooooo????

That being said, I was by myself in this Selection as who I would take for my MLB on my All-Time NFL team~

At 6’3”, 250lbs, he could step into the middle of any NFL defense today and be fine, versus most of these guys’ choice, Jack Lambert, who started most seasons at 215-220 & come December, his stretch run & play-off weight was 208-212lbs(he told me this himself along with Rocky Bleier, who was right behind Jack at a December weigh-in and said that he outweighed Jack, 211 to 207lbs, lol), would get buried and if he thinks that his last 2-3 years without possibly THE greatest D-line in front of him were “torture(his exact word?),” he wouldn’t last two seasons in the middle today at his weight, however I do believe that having the mentality of a Champion, he’d have worked his •ss off in the weight room, put a rock-solid, 245-250lbs on his 6’4” frame, and been a terror today. Please remember that regardless of the field, court or course, Champions transcend the decades, generations and time. Sir Walter woulda found a way to be a Champion today?

Please don’t get me wrong, Jack was a bad•ss and could cover ground like a DB, which shouldn’t be surprising as his weight was that of a DB, lolol. Also, and THIS is my largest caveat, it’s much much muuuuuuch easier to go sideline to sideline when you’ve got arguably THE GOAT of DT’s in front of you and three other Pro-Bowlers, two of em consistent All-Pros who were regulars on the HoF ballots, and stand a great chance of getting in on the “veteran” vote category.

Bottom line, Jack usually only had to worry about shedding a TE’s block, and as the TE usually lined up on Greene’s side 98%+ of the time for the double team and about 25-30% of the time on running plays, the guard would “chip” in. Please take a sec & think about that~ HALF your O-line, a TRIPLE team, for ONE man??. Is it any wonder that Joe was always p!ssed off and kickin, punchin and head slappin guys??? He was single handedly responsible for the “head slap” rule change and Mel was responsible for the 5-yard rule change, hahaha. Name me one other D that had two members single handedly change the NFL rules due to their LEGAL style of Play??!!!

Butkus faced the same offensive blocking scenes as Greene, with 2-3 men assigned to him and exactly like Joe, he either blew around em, over em or many more times than not, through em.

Check this out...

Apologies for the rant down memory lane however I’m bored?

Enjoy the games Gents?

Yeah Ryen Russilo always gives them a bit of crap for that on his pod. Because the Ravens try to act now like they knew he was this good and built their whole team around him haha

They have done a great job building around him. But yes I dont think anyone really expected him to be THIS good so soon

It will be interesting to see the next crop of QBs like Burrow, Tua and Lawrence too....all these guys run really well too (not like jackson, but pretty well)

They traded up into the first to get Jackson so they get the extra year on his contract. The only reason to do that and pay him more upfront is because they expected to need time to groom him.

They are so full if it if they act like they saw this. They drafted two TE's that year and the one that is better (Andrews) was picked later the in the draft. No shame in not seeing what was coming, every other team missed it. TB was a 6th round pick and he's the goat.

Good to see you posting scratchswinger. Your insight always shows strong NFL knowledge.

With that victory just now in San Fran, Matt Ryan is 5-0 when facing the the number one defense in the league. Matty ICE!!

The Falcons are a sneaky good bad team. For a team that will finish like 6-10 , matt Ryan and Julio Jones scares you every week

It seems kind of weird that the Packers are a bye team right now. Have we talked about the Packers at all this year? Is Aaron Rodgers still there? Do they still have Ahman Green and Antonio Freeman? I feel like theres been zero Packers talk and they're 11-3 or whatever

I haven't watched them a ton but I know they have problems with the run. Rodgers isn't turning it over but not lighting it up either.

I don't know what to make of them. I'm not sure it would surprise anyone if Rodgers lit guys up for a few games in the playoffs , especially if Aaron Jones is playing. Except game after game this year they just seem more like the Bills offense. Couple of big plays, no turnovers and win 20-14 or something

Well the Packers have to go into Minny's glass house this Monday Night. That will be a stern test for them, but I hear D. Cook is injured.

Too the Green Bay defense started out balls to the wall, and as Scratch stated above has now leveled off to middle of the NFC/League. I still think Lambeau would be a concern for a road team no matter who during the playoffs.

I am very much looking to this Monday Night's game. I am a fan of both teams so that makes it an extra enjoyable watch. Plus you all know Aaron can win just about any game by himself ...! ! ! lol

I'm a bit of Vikings fan, mostly because Minnesotans are like honorary Canadians, they sound like us and like beer and hockey.

So I've always been a bit of a vikings guy , and when Wiggins went to the Wolves that just sealed it.

I'm actually a strong supporter of just annexing Minnesota and hoping no one notices

Minnesota will get up early and blow the game as they always do on prime time. Even if GB beats Minnesota they are beating, what the 5th best team in the NFC? I have watched GB a few times this year and other then the Raiders game I just have not been impressed. Niners and Charges just manhandled them and dominated every facet of those games, that generally does not happen to good teams. I get it Lambo is cold and the fans are drunk but it's not the gauntlet it once was. I just looked it up and they are 3-2 at home since 2011 in playoffs and one of those wins was the Dez catch witch should be an L.

Is it me or are the teams likely in the playoffs this year all fairly decent? I mean assuming Tennessee makes it in the AFC (over Oakland or Pittsburgh) i feel like 11/12 teams are all fairly competent , and even the NFC East champion (who would be the 12th) will at least have a talented QB. If Dalvin Cook is out Minnesota is a bit shakier so maybe we say 10.5 teams....But still

There doesn't feel like there's too many shaky quarterbacks or overly atrocious units out there. Most years there are guys like Bortles or Trubisky out there that you are just watching with your hands over your eyes , kind of like in a movie when a car is teetering over a cliff. The AFC will most likely have 6 pretty darn good QBs

AFC

Pats: enough said

Ravens: Don't need to go into this

Chiefs: Mahomes and defense playing well

Texans: 2 out of 3 weeks they look great and they have Deshaun Watson

Buffalo: Very good defense and Josh Allen makes plays and doesn't turn it over.

Tennessee: Tannehill, Brown and Derrick Henry are legit scary right?

NFC

49ers: Defense, running game....Garopolo looks pretty OK right?

Seahawks: Wilson...

Saints: Brees , Thomas, Kamara...

Packers: Aaron Rodgers isn't turning it over and they can run, decent defense

Vikings: Look if they are the 2nd worst team in the playoffs that's pretty good

NFC East PuPu platter: Thanks for coming out

Let's get these playoffs started!!!! I honestly have no idea who is gonna take this

There does seem to be a lot more parity in the NFC with only the 6 seed currently locked in and several of the others being a tossup going into the final week. Very few teams in a position to be able to rest players this week than we're generally accustomed to. I personally don't think TEN, HOU, or BUF are all that great of contenders. They are good teams and fairly well rounded, but I don't see them making a run. In the NFC I'm not sold on MIN or obviously the NFCE champs. Still leaves some good competition on each side. Should be a good finish.

I agree with you its unlikely those 3 AFC teams could make it through, but I could see any of them pulling off an individual upset where they look pretty good.

But it would be something for one of them to make it through 2 of those top 3 teams yes

It does seem weird, but the fact that they have been pulling out tight wins should help them a little bit in the playoffs. If their offense can actually show some consistency and give the defense some time to stay fresh I think they will do just fine. Ole Z Smith looks like an absolute animal right now.

I actually had that conversation with a friend recently, about how good Clemson/LSU/Ohio State would be compared to a bad NFL team. Those 3 teams were just so overwhelmingly better than everyone else at the college level....

But i still think any NFL team would beat them handily.

It's easy to look at pathetic NFL teams and think they are really inept and suck. But they just suck at the NFL level. The Miami Dolphins were accused of putting together the worst roster in modern history intentionally and even their skill players are full of guys who were REALLY good college players. 1000yd receivers, Running Backs from Alabama, the alltime Penn State leader for catches at Tight end....etc.
