3 Iron Shaft

I'm looking for something to fit the gap between my ~280 yd 3 wood and my 230 yd 4 iron. My current Titleist 816 H2 goes about 260 and I.m not a big fan of hitting it. My conclusion has been that a 3 iron would be better for my game. The only question I have is what shaft. My 3 wood shaft is HZRDOUS Black Handcrafted 6.5 at 75 grams and my iron shafts are Project x 6.5 at about 130 grams. I understand something probably low launching, but Montana has no selection of 3 irons and we currently have 2 feet of snow. I don know if I should have a graphite shaft at about 85 grams or something closer to my irons at about 100 grams. Any recommendations/ combos to try would be great.

Have you looked into Recoil shafts? They have a 110g and 95g iron shaft version. I play DGTI s400 shafts in my irons and wedges, and just put a 125g recoil in my 4 iron. Easier to launch than the s400 in a 4 iron, but doesn’t go too high, and feels very stable as well.

Find a PX Blue Tour Issue Hybrid shaft (HC1 is 6.5), they are a perfect match to both your irons and the driver, and they are silly low priced now. They came as both 0.370 and 0.355 taper, and the 0.370 can be modified to taper.

Weight is 95 Grams at 42.00" as 6.5 flex.

These are fantastic shafts. Definitely agree with Howard. They also play a little softer than the standard PX steel IMO so you can go to 7.0 (HB6) and keep it untipped in a 3 iron to get the flex you want - and if you don't mind TM paint, pm me. I have one or 2 extra. Another option is the PX Catalyst 100 6.5. It's an iron shaft (not big $ and comes in .355) and it's better IMO than the HB6 in driving irons.
