As I was lamenting the loss of innocence of college sports, I realized, sports are the ultimate reality TV, and the original as well. The conference championships were afoot, and most of those kids are never going pro, but they give up their bodies and possibly their minds for the great corporate creature the NCAA and their school. It made me sad, so I decided to see what else was out there in relation to reality TV rather than watch these healthy young men beat themselves up for nothing other than pride and fun. I didn't go into this lightly, so I searched on Hulu to see what could distract me from the sadness, and I tried to relate to the stars of the show.

As a fashionista, I am a little behind the times, so I turned to the mother of all modern reality shows and tried to "keep up." I ran upstairs, wriggled into my wifes yoga pants and compression shirt and sat down with a bowl of chips and salsa. I don't mind telling you, my butt is almost as large, and the moobs were spectacular, but I fell a little short in the thin waist department. After repeated spills of salsa on my exposed belly I realized I needed to find another escape. But in keeping with the trend of most fashionable, I am expecting Lamar Jackson to win big against the Jets, but also realize they may pull him before the huge number is met. But I think just about anyone can score against them, so I am taking the 45 and the over.

After wiping off the salsa I thought I would try to find something a little more relatable, so I turned to my 600 pound something or other. I don't think I could have been more shocked that this passes as television. Whoever thought this was a good idea is surely the bane of western civilization, but I have to admit, given my outfit and my posture, this felt a little more relatable. So in a nod to the biggest player in the NFL, Damon Harrison of the Lions, I have to pick on this game. It's ironic, does their QB blow as "though," or do we lament he blew, as in "through." Regardless, he isn't bad, but boy are the Lions stinking right now. With his surrounding players I am going to take the Bucs indoors and give the points.

It all led me to Duck Dynasty. Now, I find people who use vernacular to be highly entertaining, and the butchering of the English language is commonplace, to celebrate their verbal inadequacies was a system shock. Wallowing in quagmires and riding around on 4 wheelers really passes as TV these days. These latest attempts at escapism and entertainment lead me to one conclusion. The culture of America is in serious decay. The idea that one can sit on their tuckus in tights and either relate, feel superior, or in the case of Duck Dynasty inferior (I don't know how to call ducks) was mind warping. Anyway, there is a kid who can call ducks, he does hunt, and he is winning with a QBR of 53. Amazingly, he is favored against another first round draft pick, and this is a flyer, because I think Buffalo is much better than advertised here (they get no advertising because they are in Buffalo), but I am going to say Duck is going to lead the Steelers to a win on Sunday night and I am giving the points. Its a bad pick, but its my pick.

Lastly, there were so many bad shows to pick from. Baby BooBoo, Bridezilla, Real Housewives, American Idol, AGT, the Voice, and the list goes on... In a throwback to the Dating Game, I throw GolfWRX a kiss.

So I am at an intersection stopped at a red light in this mornings rush hour. I was well rested and ready to attack my workday. I had the sports talk radio station playing in the car as I always do. I was sipping my wake me up beverage. I was amazed at how cold this morning was. The temperature was 27* and the winds were howling 25 + mph. Thank heavens I think I am donning my full length Eddie Bauer down parka. Twas just a routine touch morning sitting in Asheville traffic. My mind began to wander. I see the following image in my mind. There is a 45ish year old guy half naked sitting on a couch, He is well manscaped in the important areas. This man has his hipster hair (extreme shaved side- long on top) groomed just right (to him) with no fewer that 3 different pomades. The TV has the Hallmark Channel's 415th Christmas Special on in the background. There are chips in a bowl and some dip. Why I wonder though is this fashionista sitting in women's leotard pants and a tight compression shirt? I think he said something about squishing the moobs in an effort to flatten them. Good looking dude yet weird attire I thought. I then said to that image in my mind ," watch some football bro and try maybe wearing a Steeler's jersey instead there 3 Rivers man. "

The light turned green and the commish went on his frozen way.

Well I come in this week with tail in between legs and limping beaten and battered by what was a 1-2 week with a missed daily double as the Ravens beat up on the cinderella darlings of the NFL the Buffalo Bills. I know I know, stop with the what ifs and take it like a man..BUT I honestly did not think the Ravens defense was that good on the road in a cold hostile environment. I was only one Bills field goal away from going 3-0 though. As I had picked the over and the Bills with the cover.

I guess I am convinced now. Do not bet against the Ravens when they can run the ball with so much ease. No matter the opponent. Do not bet on the Eagles was my lesson from prior weeks.

So as it stands now with things on my To Do list:

Always bet the Ravens.Never Bet on the Eagles.But wait a minute here...what about those last 2 things from last year you know the ones you just erased to write in your top 2 things to do from this year? Oh yes

Needless to say, I will not be watching much football today. First sunny day in what seems like over a week.

2-1 and one is a good week for this guy, and I knew my third pick was a reach. The Commish goes 3-0 this week which creates some consternation amongst those just ahead of him,

My 7 game run came to a screeching halt barring a 55 point effort from Drew Brees this evening. This is why I will never amount to anything in fantasy football. My opponent played some running back from the Cardinals who went off. I didn't even know AZ still had an NFL team, much less a guy who could post 40+ points in a week.

Bold Prediction: CowGirls are going to upset someone in the first round. Playing at home is not bad come playoff time. Zeke looked like the old Zeke and the Defense played with a purpose. I know a lot of people thought the Rams were back. But Dallas at home is a tough out. If Zeke has fresh legs which I think he might because they did not rely on him much over the year. He could be the dominant back in the playoffs.
