2019 LPGA Season Odds and Ends

Dottie and Clarris are no match vs Bianca in most aspects of the golf game if you ask me... the only advantage these 2 have now over her is/was their experience on the tour... so I actually expect Bianca to be the RP representative to the Olympics in 2020 barring injury...

I don't know much about the nuances of the ranking system for the Olympics but if I should use Ardina and Guce's 2019 LPGA results as basis for Bianca to beat, then she should be able to handle that... again, not sure about the nuances of ranking points but my gut feel is that Bianca will be the representative along with Yuka since they are the top 2 of the country right now as I type this...

Gainbridge LPGA Championship

News was about to break that the club, which for decades has enjoyed its discretion as a course “hidden in plain sight,” will for the first time host a major golf event, the inaugural Gainbridge LPGA tour championship, in January 2020. The longtime members and staff discussed this and much more.

I'm obviously more keen to see the results of the rookies and sophomores on the tour, including the above mentioned plus Yuka Saso in the JLPGA, JLee6, Haley Moore, etc... the Tokyo Olympics will be a bonus... The ones I've followed in the class of 2016-2019 NCAA are now mostly all on the LPGA tour - so it's somewhat NCAA all over again but with way much more at stake -- eg their livelihood... Fassi, Kupcho, Patty, etc -- I'll be a happy camper with Bianca just retaining her card for 2021 in this year's results... Ardina and Guce have shown me it is not a gimme, so I want Bianca to at least surpass what Ardina/Guce did in 2019 as her game allows her to do so in my view...

My others are a) will Shibuno and Ai Suzuki each put up 3+ wins in JLPGA (or did they catch a lucky stretch here)? Going to be somewhat odd if they dominate and don't give the LPGA a try in 2021. b) can Sei Young Kim win the USWO and/or some other majors. Give her two and there is no debate where she ranks vs other more popular Korean players.

Ai Suzuki's LPGA major record are:ANA Inspiration 76th 2018Women's PGA C'ship DNPU.S. Women's Open T22 2019Women's British Open T14 2017Evian Championship T55 2019

Don't expect her to be any different in the future.

Hinako Shibuno, the Golden Generation 04/1998-03/1999, is a god-send to Japan; Yuka Yasuda, the Platinum Generation 04/2000-03/2001 is ready to challenge.

The Ladies European Tour has announced a new event for 2020 in Saudi Arabia. The 72-hole event will mark the first professional female golf tournament held in Saudi Arabia. The event, held March 19-22, will feature a $1 million purse, among the highest prize funds on the LET.

LPGA can't come soon enough for Ayean Cho

Following winter training in New Zealand and moving to Australia in mid-January 2020, he plans to challenge the Australian Women's Professional Golf (ALPGA) Qualifying Tournament from January 19.

If the ALPGA Qualifying Tournament passes successfully, it will participate in the US Women's Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour Vic Open and Australian Women's Open in February 2020.

The two tournaments will be co-hosted by the LPGA and ALPGA Tours, with the Big Open within seventh place in the ALPGA Qualifying Tournament and the Australian Women's Open in the third place.

"I have been to New Zealand and Australia for a few years," said Joa-yeon. "I'm going to show you how good it will be."

The biggest question in this forum will remain focused on the LPGA and what they are able to do -- with or without the PGA's assistance.

Questions that will be answered (hopefully):

1. Will they increase their live golf coverage?

2. Will they offer streaming services?

3. Will they expand their broadcast deal to more than one network (GC)?

Anyway, food for thought.
