DG S300 VS True Temper Dynamic Gold 105 S-300...

Forgive me is this has been asked before. I tried the search function but it appears broken.

I have been using DG S300 shafts for a while. I have been fitted into KBS Tour X flex soft stepped once or DG X100 soft stepped once. I have a 94 mph 6 iron swing speed with a moderate tempo. Is this DG 105 S300 too light? I prefer a heavier shaft. I tried lighter shafts before. I was hitting 7 irons over 200 yards and spraying them everywhere lol. What's everyones thoughts on this shaft given my swing info? Too light?

Best to get one club done, see what you think. Lighter is not always better.

You don't mention how far you hit your 7 iron with the DGS300s.

But you've suggested your own answer.

Is the couple(?) of yards extra you'd get with the lighter shaft worth the loss in dispersion ?

You swing considerably faster than I do but I've had DGS300s for 7 seasons now. When I first fit myself for my current irons I tried all sorts of steel shafts and all sorts of weights. I got about 2 yards more with the 95-105 weight shafts but the dispersion with the DGS300s was so much better it was a no brainer. Now if YOU get an extra club with the lightweight shafts you might want to see if you can "tame" them but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I've lost quite a bit of length recently with a health issue but am swinging demo clubs with different shafts and find the exact same thing - lighter shafts give me a 2-3 extra yards but the dispersion still can't come close to the DGS300.

yah I just find it weird to see Ping i500's stock with that shaft. Seems like a weirdly light shaft for a club like that. Or maybe I am missing the point of the Ping i500's but they seem more of a better player iron with a GI kind of shaft? Is that a fair assumption? Anyway thanks guys for the response.

Maybe DG 120 S400 would be a sufficiently lighter shaft to move to. A 25G drop in raw weight may be too much.

Yah I definitely am not looking to drop shaft weight. I can get a set of Ping i500's for a great deal, but I'm perplexed with this shaft being the stock/default shaft for these irons. I checked golftown and other sites and the only shaft option is DG 105. I know I can order them with different shafts but the deal presented to me does not allow for that so I was looking to see if I can get some insight on these shafts. Seems like I should walk away from it, dangit!

Not knowing anything else about you,....it's probably too light. If you like a "heavier shaft", I'm not sure why you would consider it

May be your assesment of ping i500s is adding confussion. IMO i500s are not players irons but distance irons. Completely different animal than your signature MP32

I think you may be right. The more I read about these the more I think I got it all wrong with them! I watched a video last night where they put those in the category just below the G700's in terms of where they fit in the set. They're not players irons as I thought they were. Apparently larger than an i210. I am glad I didn't pull the trigger on them!

I need something to replace these MP 32's, they're beat up! The search continues...
