TRUE Linkswear Major - How the heck are they?

Recommended Posts

Trying to purchase a pair of these. Located in Australia so I have to get people involved to get them, but so many conflicting reviews of sizing. One person says they're wide, the next says they are small.

Loving the Majors so far. So comfortable. Grip is great. Feel on the greens is also great. My only complaint is that the material on the toe box absorbs moisture and dirt very easily. I've had to clean that area twice after a few rounds. It cleans up nice though. However, not something I want to spend time doing.. I have considered spraying them so that I no longer have to manage that area.

is the toe made of suede? it doesnt look like leather and may be the issue for the dirt problem.

I'm really tempted to buy a pair of the Majors in white but I'm concerned that after wearing them for a short while the shoe will look like it's been beat to hell

I'm concerned about how the Nubuck leather is going to hold up up & look after a few rounds ..

For you guys that have a chance to get a few rounds in with the Majors what are your thoughts on how they're holding up ?

Thanks

So one of the shoe lace loops broke on mine today. I'm waiting to hear back from True Linkswear on weather this will be covered under warranty.

Dang. That sucks! I can't say enough good things about TRUE's customer service, though. I'd be shocked if you don't have a new pair coming your way at no charge.

Update: I called their customer service and they were great. They acknowledged that the first 100 pairs had a stitching issue with the lace loop that can cause that but it's been fixed. They are shipping me a new pair tomorrow that won't have the same issue. This seems like a company you can trust.

These were my first pair of Trues and I couldn’t be happier. I came from ecco hybrids and TW13’s. I love the fit and feel of the Majors. Grip is fantastic and cushion is perfect. Love the mobility and the ground feel. I highly recommend.

Nice review. Thanks. Kinda sucking me back in.

Was falling in love with the Pumas Rickey has on today. The light gray ones but I’m loving the look of the white major skin

After five rounds and a few range sessions with the Majors I have reached out to TRUE to initiate a return. I can't keep up with cleaning the suede on the toe box after every round. The suede just gets wet and absorbs moisture. I leave it to dry it and it leaves a ring from the where it was wet. Also, the black around the perimeter of mine have started peeling on the back of the heel. This appears to be painted on or something. Not what I would expect for $200 shoes. I can share a picture when I get home. I'm pretty bummed as these might be the most comfortable golf shoes that I've owned. Hopefully they allow me to return them for a full refund instead of trying to replace them. I don't want to deal with the same issues again.

Anyone else having these issues?

Too bad to hear about the cleanliness difficulty of the Majors. The white colorway is sharp, but I don't think I want to sign up for trying to keep them looking decent. Footjoys appear safe for another year.

Just ordered the True Majors in white (13, my standard size). Was very torn between these and the Originals....but went with these. Will post initial thoughts once I have a chance to hopefully break 100 in them!

FWIW - it was between Majors, Originals, Nike Vapor React, Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour

* was only able to try on the Nike Vapor React (VERY comfortable but had a lot of extra/loose fabric around my foot

* was interested in the Nikes but decided to stay spikeless and, hopefully, enjoy the walk

New colorway came out today as well...looks good in my opinion, and should be much easier to keep clean than the Augusta White.

Got the True Major whites!

Looked great but unfortunately I did not like the fit for my size 13 shoe: felt scratching in my heels and a little snug in the toe box. Probably would have been fine but they just didn’t get me going.

Wanted to like them so much but, ultimately, returned the whites.

Carry on!

I went up to a size 14 and the fit was perfect! 13 were snug on my too.

This is an old thread and all but wanted to share my story. I ordered my size in the Majors but they were too tight so I sent them back for half size larger. Those were still too snug in the heel. After speaking with customer support they asked me if I removed the insole would they fit? And they did. So they sent me 2 insoles that are actually from the True Originals, and are a bit thinner than the ones that come with the Majors. After replacing the insoles they fit really great and are still really comfortable. And the tuxedo ones look awesome.
