Best driver for low on face contact

I can confirm this. I have been making really solid contact on my F9 after making some recent swing adjustments, but all are low on the face. I’m getting a ton of spin on shots that feel really solid and should be going further. In the market to try something different now.

I picked up a G400 Max 9 degree based on this recommendation to try instead of my F9 10.5 turned down to 9. I hit everything low on the face with the F9. The Max was definitely a better fit for me, much less spin. Interestingly though all of my contact on the Max is high on the face. I have the same shaft in both - Hzrdus Smoke.

Nice, i'm glad that worked out! Interesting that your contact changed though. Did the playing length and/or swing weight change from the Cobra?

I’m not sure about the swingweight as I haven’t been able to measure that yet. The length is the same. I have both an F7 and an F9 - different shafts and lengths and I get low face contact on both. The Max is the first driver I’ve gotten high face contact with.

Well that is good, higher face contact will more easily produce ideal launch conditions. It would be good to know why though, if you have the ability to weigh the heads it would be interesting to see if there is a difference.

This is interesting; why he'd hit one high on the face and the other low.

I wonder if the aerodynamics of the head have anything to do with it ?

Could be any number of things honestly. I was curious about head weight because obviously a lighter or heavier head can influence delivery and strike location, which seems like the most obvious difference. Beyond that, face depth, how a club sets up, and visible loft can all make you feel more or less comfortable delivering the head a certain way. Sometimes a head with what visually appears to have less loft can lead to trying to "help" the ball up via a more positive AoA, which can lower strike location. Conversely, more visible loft can reduce that feeling and level out your AoA, leading to higher strikes. Also I think shallower faces like many Cobra drivers have can influence delivery as well, especially if you're someone that has ever suffered from a case of the popups (not saying anything about @ewe8523 here).
All just theories though, I just think it is helpful to figure out why these things happen.

I game the PXG XF and the forgiveness low on the face is unreal. It kicked my G400 Max out of the bag.

Try one a half inch longer than the one you’re using now. It should fix the thin drive issue. Or get thinner soled shoes. I’m not joking BTW.
