I love the look of the chalk center shaft and wanted it as soon as saw pics on Instagram. From the get go it was only going to be a back up. I played 2 9’s with it and probably will never make my gamer. The MyCustom Spider Tour (all orange) is the best putter I have owned. If I ever decide to get rid of it I’ll let you know.

Yes, the "S" stands for "slant neck" and is a bit toe down. The other one is face balanced.

Also, and I don't know whether this is just a coincidence or not, in the PGATSS near me, ALL the face balanced "10" putters have the fat/oversized grip on it and the "s" models all have a smaller "pistol" type grip.

Like the wide sight line on the 10......but, the Spider X won out for me....puts a great roll on the ball! I’ve been making everything

Have a Spider X on order. Can't wait for it. I was strongly looking at the Stroke Lab, but the Spider just felt and rolled better to me.

Interesting how its different for everyone. I went to GG last week and rolled the TT Stroke Lab 10, the new Spider and the Spider S? I think its called. First, they are all very good to great putters. If you are looking for a high MOI, easy to roll putter you cant go wrong with any of them. I found the Stroke Lab 10 to be the best one and I think that new insert is miles better than the TM one. It feels and sounds great. Say what you want about the Triple Track but it helps me align and I'll take it.

How about the paint longevity? Spider X does not seem to hold up. Any thought on the paint for the Spider S or the Stroke LaB 10s.

I’ve had a Ten and Bird of Prey and they are both super durable so far. I don’t abuse putters but the finish seems great. I’ve even used them in sandy greens and there isn’t a mark on the bottom.

Thoughts on adding the heavier weights from the weight kit to the ten? Should increase MOI even more right?

I'm liking the lighter head weight of the ten. Coming from a Fetch.....lighter works for me. Just need to get the course open and off temp greens more often.

I’m not sure MOI will get a noticeable boost with more weight. I put the heavier weights in both my Ten S and face balanced Ten. I instantly noticed feel for the club head improves with more weight. This took my from being on the fence about moving on from my SL shafted putters to firmly being in the camp that really enjoys the SL Ten models I own.

My preference would be to buy a chalk Spider X as I love the look but I’m concerned about the paint chipping which is leaning me towards the 10s for this exact reason.

I have had the spider x for a year now and still looks new, prior to that I games the all black spider for a couple of years. I have had zero paint issues with either of them.

I have had about 3 black Spiders in the past but could not get comfortable enough to bag one. I just bought a Spider X, navy and white. I really like this putter and it feels great and is now in the bag. The extra alignment feature is helping me sink putts from everywhere. I am at home so much I think I am becoming an indoor putting champion.;-) BTW, never had paint problems with any Spider putter.

I've had a Spider X in the bag for about a year now and it's had it's good and bad days. I feel like it's overall a more 'hot' putter due to the insert than what I would normally use so it took a lot of adjusting to. I just picked up a SL7 a few weeks back and felt more in control with that but found it a little less forgiving than the Spider. I have a Toulon Las Vegas coming in any day now so I'm excited to see what that can do.

Are you saying this is why a lot of tour guys don't use the Toulon series? What is the major difference between milled & deep milled then? Since a lot of blades are milled.

The deeper the milling the softer the putter will be. I had a Piretti deep milled putter and had to whack it to go 15 feet. I ditched it fast. My preference is mild milling like Byron Morgan's Tuna #4

Had them both. Spider X won out for me, can’t beat the Pure roll insert! Would definitely like a wider alignment line as the Ten has tho TM!

I had the Spider X for a large part of the year last year and just find milled faces to be more consistent for me. I putt well with the Spider X but the distance control was tough with it on shorter putts. Like others in the thread have mentioned I got the Las Vegas and all is right so far

I have a Spider X for about a month now, and have only been able to use it for practice as golf is shutdown here still. yesterday the only sleeve of balls I had handy were the Chrome Soft Triple Track, I hate the actual performance of the ball and would not use it in play. But I have to admit it lined up very well with the TT and the Alignment Line of the Spider

This is funny oh how 9 months can change things. 

 

Got a SL 10S on sale last week and first round out the face is the best insert I have felt. I felt that after a longer period of time using the Spider X Slant and the Toulon Las Vegas H7 the SL 10S was the only one where my miss wasnt left.

For more control I went with stroke lab, now for even more control this year I have the stroke lab double wide arm lock! Making MANY more putts!

I prefer the Stroke Lab 10 simply because of a long history with Odyssey.
