Bad ads? Use link in first post to Report.

If that’s the case, the reporting website needs to be updated because it only asks for the URL of the page on which the ad is found, the exact opposite of what you are stating.

 

 

The point I am trying to make, which others have mentioned also, is that this reporting process looks like a scam to simply get permission to track our online history. Based on the information requested, there is no way this process can affect the ads we see.

There is a lot of great info there about online tracking and cookie tracking. I can see the concern and confusion. Most malicious ads are hijacked pages. If one wants them removed then the landing pages need to be cited. The delivery page, to your point, is not relevant.

Thanks for the clarification; I will report the landing pages going forward. However, I do think they form on the reporting website should be updated so that others are not confused in the same way.

@Gxgolfer Here is another one!! Any updates on this? Last year I accidentally clicked on the adobe one and it really messed up my computer causing me to reinstall. my OS.

Didn't capture any URL stuff - those come up, I get out ASAP.

Getting both the Norton and Adobe for the past three days. Clearing the cache is only a temporary fix. It seems to only occur for me while I'm viewing the Unread Content. And for the first time today I received this from AT&T.

Just got the Norton one again.  Not using the form because I would think the screenshot above would suffice that someone else put up, but it's persistent.

Yes. Getting the Norton and Adobe pop ups, as well as others.

Every time I leave for an extended period of time and come back the Norton pops right up.

Done, but not sure what giving Freestar permission to review "my ad history" really involves, so checked that box with reservations.

 

This Adobe Flash thing has now popped up every time I've accessed today, not just intermittently as before.

Here is another variation mostly black screen. This is very dangerous would appreciate an update on what I being done about this. I luckily know not to click on these links but if you do something is installed on your computer and you have to wipe your OS

I copied and pasted the URL of what was showing for me on the wrx form and was nervous just trying that.

These are from the 3rd party Ad companies and reporting via the Bad Ads links sends it to their security team for addressing.

Kind of lame we are going out of our way to report a security issue and post a screenshot and we have to fill out a form and be ok with someone reviewing history. No thanks. I just want to know why we have this experience on GolfWRX and none of the other forums? What is the deal here?

We are now the world's largest golf forum and have to pay the bills.  3rd party ads pay the bills.  Nefarious actors try to take advantage of that as they know that as well.  We aren't the only site effected as I have seen them on yahoo and other places I have frequented.  We use one of the world's largest 3rd party fulfillment companies and thus have access to request support.  Your cooperation is appreciated.

That's why I filled out the form.  Just did a revisit and first time it hasn't popped up for awhile, so maybe the latest one I was getting is done . . . . or I've just jinxed myself, lol.
