What Are You "OCD" About?

OCD about what ?

Every club has its own place in the bag ? Check.

Carry clubs from only one (-ish) manufacturer ? Check. (yeah I know, this isn't the case right now, and it's annoying)

Always have the same things (2 balls, 3 tees, a divot tool and a ball marker) in my left pocket and absolutely nothing in the right ? Check.

Find the place where my feet are absolutely flat on the teebox before each tee shot (almost regardless of where the markers are, but never in front of them) ? Check.

It's not only on the golf course as well...

Here's a few.

Although I don't play Nike clubs anymore, I am a Nike fanboy and I wear only Nike clothes and shoes as if I was sponsored...but never would be.Clean clubs before every roundClubs in their own slotNothing in my pockets other than a divot tool and ball marker.Glove in my left pocket when I puttNew ball for every roundIf I walk to the green with another club other than my putter, I bring the putter headcover with me so that I can take it off and place next to my other clubs so that I know to get the headcover and the other clubs when I've finished the hole. I do this so I don't leave any clubs behind. When I just bring the putter to the green, the headcover stays in the cart so I don't forget to leave it on the green.I'm sure I have more but thats all I can think of at the moment.

Apart from the normal stuff like making sure my sticks are immaculate, I keep my bag completely organized. Everything has it's own pocket, compartment. I also clean my golf shoes after every round to make sure they continue to look as new as possible.

Oh - another thing I'm OCD about is my golf pants have to fit perfectly. I can't stand when they are too long and bunch up down by my shoes.

Headcovers on my woods, hybrids, and putter at all times unless being used, no unnecessary dings while in the bag. No covers on irons. Clean clubs after every shot.

I won’t wear a hat or clothing of any golf equipment manufacturer unless I play their gear.

Clothes and hat must match.

Dont have a requirement to use gear from the same maker though I’m all PING at the minute just worked out that way.

I really like the Richardson Style 112 trucker hats they just fit me. No Ping ones however so I have a bunch of blank ones in various colors instead...super cheap on Amazon.

Not sure if this is OCD. or me being a sissy

I have trouble.... a bit of anxiety when people try to hit my clubs regardless of skill. I have no issues with marks/scuffs that I create using my clubs. For some reason I have a lot of issues if someone who touches my clubs creates marks/dings on my clubs

The worst is when someone wants to try my driver.... they always tend to pick the worst range balls out of the bucket... or sometimes a sandy ball..... OMG CRINGE

or if they take my putter/iron/driver to check out and just slam/drop/ground it on the cement ground.

I never blame them but itll bug me enough to try and buff it out or fix it lol.

Its weirdest thing about me as a golfer because I am also that golfer that would rather play a golf ball that I played for 36 holes with slight scuffs than pull out a fresh ball (maybe it ties into me being a cheap ass LOL I duno)

I'm non denominational when it comes to hats too since I retired my poser Titleist hat. It's now a hat bearing my club's logo.

AS for the bag, well that's yet to go that route, I'm simply too cheap when the current bag is still doing the job!

You sound like one of my friends I golf with who is never happy with any shots he ever makes. There is always a flaw somewhere in a shot, and always let everybody know about it. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a hole-in-one and complained about it somehow. You could be one of two people, either my friend Dave, or a millennial.

I just bought a shag bag and I have the same, but recycled, golf balls I play with.

Golf is a fantastic game for those who are OCD - so much to obsess over!

for me...

clubs must always go where they’re supposed to in the bag. ProV1 logo must be on left side of the ball when putting. if using a coin for a ball mark, always mark it with the heads up. towel must always be wet on half of it and clean clubs after each shot and grips before each shot in the summer. will not use wood colored teesOnly play Titleist 4’s or 7’s during competitive play. fixing lots of ball marks same pre shot routine every time. there’s probably more. I justify all of my consistency by saying it reduces the things you have to think about when trying to score - if you do the same routine every time you can just think about the shot - nothing more (ish).

I'm the same way about needing tees in my pocket. I keep probably 6 tees in my right pocket along with ball mark and repair tool (or just use a tee if I'm lazy and don't pull the tool out of my bag). After I hit my tee shot on 18 I put all the tees back in my bag.

Playing partners that don't clean there clubs or golf balls...I'll pick up their wedge around the green ...(speeding up play) while they finish out & clean there club, or while there waiting to putt have them toss me their ball to clean it...Last but not least, Being ready to hit either in tourney play or a casual ready golf round with friends! Golf is meant to be played in 3:15-3:45, but that's a whole other post...LOL
