2019 Srixon Z forged vs prior model Z965

Any one gaming either of these irons Z965 or the 2019 Z forged. Came out of a fitting and the shining stars were the titleist 620 CB ($$$) or the Srixon Z Forged. Very intrigued by the v sole whether it’s mental or not (would have to test on turf rather than indoors) seemed to retain a lot of ball speed when I thought I had chunked a couple. Would love to hear some feedback from golfers still using these sticks because I can get a pretty crazy deal 4-PW on the Z965 brand new for $500. Just didn’t know if I’d be missing anything at all with the new model. Thanks in advance.

I've been gaming Srixon irons since the 45 series and currently have a 785/Z-Forged combo set in the bag. The V-sole was a HUGE selling point for me when I tried the 745s several years back and it continues to be one of the best features about these irons.

 

In terms of differences between the 965 and Z-Forged I can't really point to a significant "feel" difference. Obviously aesthetics are different and I think the Z-Forged look better than the 965's. That's not to say the 965's weren't a great looking iron, though. But if you're purely going off performance and feel you won't see any difference between the two sets.

Thanks for the insight. I pulled the trigger I scored a deal on the new Z forged and couldn’t resist. The V sole is what sold me as well I don’t know if it was a mental thing or not. During my fitting for some reason we noticed I lowered my dynamic loft by about 4-5° on average with the same angle of attack. I’m usually a pretty shallow sweeper between 2-3° down on a 6 iron so I tend to hit the ball high with too much spin. I know there’s 1° loft difference (the 620cb was strengthened by 1°) but we agreed take the better efficiency and save some $$. Can’t wait to spend a lot of time with them haha
