Hitlon Head and general area boys trip help

Me and 3 fellas are thinking about making this area the spot for our annual trip (year 1 was Scottsdale, San Diego last year). We have 4 rounds to play over 4 days in the beginning of April.

Because we are all pga members, we sometimes get comp'd or on private clubs with special permissions.

Wo we are wondering, with price and private clubs not being a factor (and no, Augusta is not an option...lol). Where would you guys recommend playing and staying.

We are sold on Hilton Head area, could go seaside or Myrtle.

Palmetto Dunes is a fantastic place to play and stay, RTJ is fantastic, Fazio is fun as well. After 7~, you can go play on the course for free until sundown.

Harbour Town, do I have to say any more?

I really enjoyed Golden Bear as well, Old South is inexpensive and Hilton Head National is a great find as well.

There are very few tracks there I wouldn't recommend. Be prepared for a LOT of water.

Also, as an FYI, Myrtle is a good 4 hour minimum drive away from Hilton Head.

Savannah is only an hour away though. Good courses in Bluffton and Beaufort too.

Not golf related, but go to the "Squat 'n Gobble" in Bluffton for BBQ.

Just my opinion but i think there is better golf off the island personally. Disclaimer: i have not played harbor town.

Bluffton: May River, maybe my favorite Jack design and i really don't dig his work but this place is awesome!

Okatie: Chechessee Creek, just an awesome hang, great folks, solid C&C design but not one of my favorites of theirs

Can't recall where Congaree is but close enough if you can make it work do it! Plan everything else around it

Concession is supposed to be stellar have not played it myself

The only thing on Island I've played is Long Cove and was disappointed.

 

I'm not sure what you all are looking to get into post golf but I really enjoy old town bluffton for dinning

Thank you all. We are not sold on Hilton Head, just the southeast of the US. Not Florida though.

Is Kiawha Island worth looking at?

Should we get an Air BNB or is there a resort or were we can stay on site.

If you could go anywhere on eastern seaboard during first week of April, where should we go?

Kiawah is amazing. If you're there to play golf. Its not a party zone. But you can if you want to pay top $ for travel into Charleston. 5 top notch courses in one place. Not too bad on costs IF you book through Kiawah.
