club face management - club open in downswing leads to EE/stall/flip release. Need to motorcycle early in transition to get that face closing..

step thru your swing and at last club parallel you can see how vertical your club face is - should be slightly closed at this point.

I wouldn't worry much about changing your take away. I would focus on making a good hip turn on the way back. Next time you hit a big block think about what your pelvis was doing during that swing and I'll bet you'll say you got lazy or slow with your hip turn.

Your positions are fine. Your backswing needs to be a swing not a deliberate move. In other words it's too slow which can cause a sequencing issue or a fast transition. Put the club half way through the follow through and swing it back. That's the tempo you're looking for.

It's interesting to me that only two people in this thread have pointed out your tempo as the possible primary culprit. No doubt there is other good advice here, but IMO your swing is good enough that you should not be prone to the amount of wild shots that you say you are. What's funny is because your swing looks pretty good to me I was wondering whether you might have tempo issues before you even posted the real time video.

I don't know if this will help but the only time I seem to hit a hosel is if I don't fully complete the backswing. (essentially get 95% of my weight to the backside). A shank for me is a lagged open face and front loaded. Thank god Miura has the softest hosel in the game. Also this could be construed as a timing issue depending on how you view it.

To me you seem to take the clubhead straight up and out from your body to start the backswing, and you've got a ton of space between your arms and trunk. Try pinning your biceps/elbows into your torso some, to start the backswing, and maintain that connected feeling throughout the swing to completion. It would also appear that you are very handsy, almost like you had a death grip on the club. Just my 2 cents, hope some of it helps.

i wouldn’t have changed the old backswing, the flailing finish says you aren’t synced on the way down. But you know best

Thats a bit harsh. I worked hard to incorporate many of the suggestions I received, and I think they are evidenced in the last swing video I posted.
