Who has moved on from Evnroll and why?

I tested the 1.2 on course for a few rounds, I did enjoy it. But I think I am starting to face facts and realize a blade putter and a reverse overlap grip is just not for me. I have been spending way too much time at the store this winter messing with the ER5 with the fat grip and totally committing to left hand low. Man that thing just feels like point and shoot from just about any distance with my left hand low grip. I am getting real close to pulling the trigger, putting ego aside and going out in 2020 with this model.

I feel like I'm getting close to moving on from EVNROLL. I have a black ER5 that I have been using exclusively since Halloween. I also have a SC Monterey (currently in the custom shop), and have played various Anser-style blades.

I just have not seen the forgiveness in the ER5 that I was hoping for. The sound doesn't really bother me. I expected this to really help on the shorter putts, and just have not seen the results. Needless to say, my putting stroke is always a work in progress, but using this ER5 has made me lose some of the 'feel' that miss from my blades.

Only downside I see to mine is sometimes mine gets a little bit "tingy" sounding depending where you hit it. I'm really used to a solid thud from my putters and kind of miss that. BUT, all my putts seem to start on the line I intended, no matter what. So, maybe I can add a touch of lead tape to help absorb some sound waves or something to get that sound in check. I'd gladly take a less than ideal sounding putter though if it rolls the ball where I Want. Then, missed putts come purely down to me and my stroke and my read. In my eyes, once you can stop trying to blame your putter, the game becomes a little easier.

I'm also eying an ER2 for the days/weeks I don't feel like looking at a mallet.

I have the black ER2 midblade with the gravity grip on it and its been pretty good for me. I agree with someone else who said you have to pay attention to the grip and weight. Evnroll putters are basically counter balanced so they can feel very heavy with the wrong grip on it. I hated the gravity grip at first but it does make the putter feel better for me. That being said I've been messing around with a Swag putter lately and it does feel a lot better. And that being said I have a Cleveland Frontline #7 looking putter coming today, lol. Judge not!!

I owned the ER2 twice. I just never could let myself hit the ball hard enough to get the ball to the hole. I'm usually a decent lag putter but not with the ER2. I wanted to love it but it never happened

I initially purchased a used ER8 as sort of an experiment to see how I liked the feel and whatnot of their putters and technology. I quickly noticed however that the sight line did not appear to be in the center of the face. In fact it was almost in line directly under the dot that is closer to the toe. I reached out to Evnroll to ask them if this was intentional or if there was a reason for this. They assured me that the line should be in the center of the two dots and that somehow the putter had made it past their quality control standards. They had me send it in to them and offered to provide me a new putter free of charge. I had them send me an ER3 as that shape seemed to be easier for me to align and added a gravity grip after a few weeks. I could not be more pleased with the putter as it is currently setup. I also can not say enough good things about the customer service that I received from Evnroll. I was not even the original purchaser of the putter but that did not matter to them as their concern was fixing a faulty putter that had their name on it. With all of the competition in the marketplace, it is nice to see a company out there that is focused on more than just their bottom line.

After switching between my 2 Byron 006s, I finally switched to an ER3 a year and half ago. The putter lines up better and holds my intended line. I have tried other putters, but I can not complain about the changes. The ball goes a consistent distance and the grooves keep the ball rolling as intended. I still practice with my Byrons, but when it comes to playing, the ER3 stays in my bag. Eventually, I will modify an ER3 for a different finish, but still expect to have the same dependable characteristics.

I had an ER2 last winter, when I got it I had the mentality "This is going to be my putter for a while". I love the look of most Evnroll putters, the first impression and feel of the milling is nice. Then I started putting with it and I went from 'Honeymoon phase' to 'filing for divorce' very quick. The reason for that was feel of the putter to me was just dead, I couldn't understand it and I didn't like it. I also couldn't aim with this thing for some reason, setting up a simple 6ft straight putt and I'd be pushing these putts all the time, try another putter and no issues with those 6ft putts, so I sold it. I've tried the ER5 which had that same dead feel to it and the ER7 which was better honestly but I didn't want to drop that kinda money for a trail.

I have an Evnroll ER8 with a 385g head and I liked it initially and in practice it was great, but it never really worked for me on the course. I liked and rolled a black Tour spider better. I still have the both and moved on to a blue spider x, and for a while I putted well with it using a claw grip.

After waa watching a Mike Makulska video, I figured out it doesn't work for my stroke to put a more pure roll on the ball. So I picked up a Stroke Lab Double wide and in putting on carpet over the winter here in Northern lower Michigan I have been rolling the ball very well.

Probably selling a few putters here shortly.

I love the idea and the company behind Evnroll. I’ve had 3 Evnroll putters and have been custom fit in Carlsbad at t their HQ. The grooves are just too deep for me, at times it feels clunky and distance control was an issue. Some of the tour pro’s using these putters have had the face shaved to increase feel. I started out with a 2004 Studio Design and gamed it for 14 years, then I tried other putters like Cameron’s, EVNROLL’s, and PXG’s. I have finally come back to the Scotty Special Select Newport 2 and so far is my favorite, but it’s still early.

I’ve mostly been a lurker since joining here.

I picked up a black ER2 with the Gravity Grip this week and finally got to play 18 with it today. I have to say that this thing was money today. I holed so many more putts than I typically do with my Fastback and even my misses were very close to the hole. Short ones, long ones - call me impressed.
