REAL OR FAKE -- CIRCLE T (Please help!)

I need help determining whether this putter is real or fake (see images in the link). I am thinking about buying this putter from somebody locally. I would really appreciate your thoughts.

very real, old school Newport Tour. I do believe the finish and milling are aftermarket though. I don't mind the finish but the milling is not a Scotty Cameron milling.

Thanks for the input! Since it seems like the putter has been refinished aftermarket, would that mean I shouldn't pay Circle T price over $1000?

all up to you. some buyers of Circle T putters won't buy one without a COA. if this does in fact have an aftermarket finish/milling which i suspect - this one won't get an A rating. again - that may not affect you. it's still real. with no stamping - i'd have to imagine it's 330G head which is light to many but nothing some lead tape can't fix. can you ask the seller about the finish and milling?

 

these older CT sticks usually go for aroun $1000-1300 depending on condition, stamps, finish and head cover/grip it comes with.

To give you an idea, I have bought and sold over 4 of that model in gamed but unrefinished condition the last few years. A couple used by PGA pro's although not the best ones. Paid around 1,000 and sold closer to 2,000. If you plan on gaming it, I'd say go for it, but resale probably won't be much over 1,000. The aftermarket finish, I could care less about. The milling will probably make it light. I'd say in the 320 range now just guessing. No problem if you love lead tape.

I really appreciate your thoughts. So I went by your comments and bought the putter. When I came home, I did a quick magnet test with a fridge magnet. It sticks. Is this a cause to be concerned about its authenticity?

Carbon steel is magnetic.
