POSSIBLY BUYING PXG IRONS

I am in the market for PXG irons and am trying to decide on wether to purchase a set of gen 2 or gen 3. For those of you that have had the chance to hit bot of those sets, what are your thoughts. I was at a demo day recently and was able to briefly hit them both. In the limited time I hit them, I did notice the gen 3 iron had a little softer feel.

Only you can decide if the benefits you see are worth the extra $$$$. I know when I went for my fitting I liked the Gen 2 0311p and thought that is what I would end up with, but then I hit the 0211's. The numbers were so close that it just did not make sense for me to spend the extra $$$ to get the 0311s.

To me, the whole appeal of the PXG brand is to get fit for exactly what you want (and then pay for it!). I'd say get fit to make sure you are getting the right thing. No use in saving money on clubs that don't improve your game.

Unless you get the Gen2’s super cheap, I’d go Gen3 for sure!

agreed. But, if I had the coin to drop on something like this. I would be shopping some Japanese forgings.

GEN 3 are way better than GEN 2 irons. I'd go to a fitting and hit everything they have. If you aren't dead set on PXG, maybe go to Club Champion and hit PXG vs everything else they carry. I hit everything, decided on PXG and then did a fitting with a PXG Master Fitter at my club. I love my GEN3's.

PXG irons are absolute butter! I actually called them yesterday about the Gen2. They took them off their site to promote Gen3. I was told they are conducting an inventory of them and they should be back in retail shortly and at a discount.
