Your favorite forged wedge?

"I actually messaged the guys at Artisan, but I have not heard anything from them. From what I understand they are pretty swamped. I think their wedges look phenomenal!" I heard back form them but essentially they told me to wait my turn :)). They definitely are swamped.

From the one I have tested I really liked my old Clevelands CG10, OR more recently the Pxg 0311 forged; I am waiting for my Miuras to arrive so I can compare :)

Golf industry consolidation has arguably brought a lot of benefits to the everyday golfer. The loss of the MacGregor brand (excluding the rebranded junk sold today) is not one of them.

I had been playing all the T series Mizuno for years until I needed new ones last year and I couldn't wait for the T20 to come out.

I tried several brands and then the Honma Tw-W4's came out. I tried them and instantly loved them. Very soft, Great feel, nice trajectory control!

They also work real well in all types turf around the green and all different sand trap conditions.

Bonus for me is that they are a bit heavier than Mizuno's.

How do they transition from the j15 pw to gap wedge? I'm curious because I need a gap wedge as mine is starting to get tired. My scratch wedges are fantastic, but I can't find another scratch gap wedge at the moment. Currently playing the tour b cb but am looking for something to transition pretty seamless. The closest thing I found so far are the t20. Thanks!

I have bought numerous wedges over the years. Call it wedge addiction or looking for something that has better sole interaction and spin of course. Must also be able to flight the shot down if needed.

For years I was a Titleist CUSTOM "TVD" Vokey guy. The "K" grind which ironically has a think and wide sole, 12*. But you can lay the wedge open and the leading edge still snuggles up to the turf. The sole mass and weight just gets the ball elevated quickly. And best wedge out of the bunker. I still rotate them in once and a while.

A must demo is the new Ping Glide 3.0. Very close to the same playability as the Titleist "K". Wide sole but the leading edge hugs the ground.

As mentioned in this post is the Fourteen RM-22. This has been in my bag years ago and has been back in the bag for the past 2 years. Great forged feel/soft and a sole that snuggles the ground when laid wide open. Its not the highest spinning wedge but best finesse playing wedge.

The latest experiment is the NEW Bridgestone XW-1 wedge. I demoed it and ordered it right away. Very Fourteen like and feels like it might produce more spin??? We'll see soon.

Don't know if this helps or confuses the journey. ??

If I understand you correctly you are talking about the gap degrees. I've had my J15CB's bent back to the muscle back spec's. I don't need the new age jacked up lofts. The 1985-2000 lofts work best for my game. So, I have my sticks at: 6I@30*, 7I@34*, 8I@38*, 9I@42* & PW@46* then the wedges at 50,54 & 58. Hopefully that helps. Go give them a test run!

Chip built these Miura 2018 Tour Milled wedges, 52/10 and 58/10. Excellent solid feel and great wedges - I played Clevelands, Vokeys, Bridgestone and TM wedges in the past, the Miuras are better for me.

Nobody posting in this thread could tell the difference between any of them if we equalized bounce and grind. They just happen to hit their best shots while holding club X, so they "love its feel". Good shots feel good.

Getting a wedge with the correct length, weight, bounce, offset, shaft, grip and grind really matters. Beyond that, you can't tell the difference. You love the Miura feel? I would bet my house that if we took the labels off and equalized the specs the posters here couldn't tell the difference between a Miura and a $19.99 Academy Sports dunlop.

I bought the Sub 70 raw finish wedges last summer, and they are amazing! Especially for the price. I play the KBS C-Taper (a $20 upcharge) and they still only cost me $114 each, when compared to the Vokey/TM/Callaway models that would have cost $175-$200. Plus, you can easily get them in a raw finish, which I love!

I gotta throw this out there...

Now I have Mizuno irons because I believe they are the best feeling, best sounding, softest irons out there (maybe Miura is as good or better but I havent personally tried them)...but does anyone else feel like forged wedges are TOO soft? Wedges, I want a bit more feedback into my hands instead of the softest feeling wedges ever which is why I settled on Vokeys. They arent like rocks coming off the face, but theres enough feedback to know exactly where I hit the ball and how far I hit it. I had T5's and T7's and I just couldnt really judge distance on pitches and chips due to them feeling like I was hitting cotton balls. I have Vegas for awhile too and it was the same thing.

I like golf. A lot.

I had the great pleasure of meeting the guys at Artisan, after travelling from the UK in September. I am a wedge (and putter) junkie.... - Vega’s by the bucket, Miuras, PXG’s etc...., and had a brilliant day with Mike and John at FW. Now using 4 Artisan wedges and a putter.... Cannot stress how good the fitting process was and just how interested Mike & John were. Massively recommended, just love the clubs. If you get the chance, it’s really worth a visit
