Mizuno T20 Wedges Long Term Review

I got the 50 / 55 / 60 right after they came out, and have been beyond pleased with them. As a previous post mentioned, the feel isn't as great as I would have imagined. It's not that it's bad, it's just not the best feel I've had in wedges, and just may be a personal preference. But the performance has been outstanding in terms of spin and accuracy, plus I really love the look of them.

like the others mentioned they're not the absoulte softest wedges around but theyre still soft. I love them personally.. I first got the Taylormade MG2 wedges late August in 50,54,58 and in October got the T20's in 52,56,60

I like the T20's more. They have a lower flight which I prefer in wedges. I think you can make an argument for either wedge in terms of spin, but the t20's do seem to have better stopping power out of wet grass. To me the MG's have slightly better feel....but again the t20's still feel really good and the performance will keep them in the bag.

The only thing I dont like about the t20's are the loft stampings on the club. It has nothing to do with performance, but its weird looking at the sole of the club and nothing is there. Small pain in the butt looking at the back toe of the club to find your loft

Tested these indoors and I came away impressed. One of the best shaped wedges I have seen in a long time. They sit really flat to the ground, at least the 50* did, and seem to have a smooth transition from set pw to gw. They feel great to me. Not the softest I ever felt, but I'm not looking for that in a wedge. They have a crisp feel, with some softness to them. At times, they felt very soft. My favorite wedges to date are a tie between my old j15's and the current Scratch 1018 raw I have in the bag. They have a very similar dense (heavy), solid feel like the Scratch. J15's were some of the softest wedges I've ever played, just wish the sole was more straight.

My current gap wedge is wearing down and I'm looking to replace it. The T20 is in the running at the moment because it looks like one of the best options of transitioning from pw that looks similar.

I tried the T-20 today (indoors on mats) just to get a sense of the feel and the look at address. I also wanted to set my eyes on the grinds. Overall, I would say they feel good. I had heard some reviewers say they felt firmer or clickier than other brands, but I tested them against my MP-20 pitching wedge and the SM7 wedges, and they felt similar to the SM7.

As far as the look at address goes, they were fine, but I would actually say the SM7 provided a better blend -- visually -- from PW. Nevertheless, I would be happy to game the T-20s, but I ultimately decided to wait to order the SM8, because of the particular grind/loft options I'm looking for.

Also, one small complaint about the T-20 ... it's very confusing trying to figure out the different grinds and which ones come with which loft/bounce setup. These things aren't stamped anywhere on the wedges either, like they are with the Vokeys and some other brands. But that's just a minor matter.

Love my T20s, I was always a Vokey guy but I was not a SM7 fan. They fit perfectly next to my MP20s too

I have the T-20's in raw--56 & 60. As has been mentioned, they are not the softest wedge. Not hard, by any means. This seems a bit unusual since they are Mizuno's, and you sort of expect them to be softer. I've heard it's the boron, but I'm not sure if that is the reason. As for performance, they are as expected. Look good, feel good. Spin well. I like them, but don't love them, and I'm a bit of a Mizunophile. I'm coming from Cobra PUR's, and although cast, they are some of the softest, sweetest wedges ever. I wish they still made them.

I find it odd that they skipped the copper underlay on the wedges. Seems it could've softened up the feel and helped them blend into the rest of the 20 line.

I too have the T20's, Raw, 50-54-58. They are paired with my MP-20MMC's. I previously used the T7's and MP-18SC.

Overall they are still very good. Not as soft as the T7's, but I just have one round in them so far. The only other wedge I considered was the Vokey but I seemed to make better contact with the T20 in my fitting.

are you getting the new HLX 3.0s??? im dying to try those myself. I have 0 complaints with the T20's. They've done everything ive wanted and more

I won a trip spooned by Cobra/Puma where I got a full bag of clubs free and have to test/review the clubs. The MIM wedges are garbage and make me appreciate the T20's that much more.

Yes I was looking at the new 3.0s. I like the T-20 but there is something about the hosel/face transition that bothers me at address. It makes the face look a little closed. I might have them both weakened 2* and see if that helps. I really like the shafts in these. I played JDM Forged Vokeys for 5 seasons prior to getting these so it’s taking some getting used to.

I just had my T-20s bent 2* weak into a set of 52 and 58 higher bounce wedges. It took that gooseneck look out of them and now they look perfect to my eye and the extra bounce never hurts me as steep as I get with wedges. Keeping them.

The more I play the MP T20, the more I like them.

They are more solid than soft but have excellent forged feel. The small amount of boron affects feel but they feel solid yet sweet. You do get feedback. The boron helps durability.

I installed Niippon Pro Modus 3 Wedge 115 in the satiin chrome wiith 48/8, 54/12 M, 58/12 C Grind

I find they work well from any liie, even in high bounce form, except for loose dirt. Then I use the 48/8.

(Of course, I have not encountered such poor conditions on the course.)

I can open up from tight lies, and find them greatly playable, even floppable from tiight grass.

Can play any shot I want. Attractive with great balance.

BTW, the loft and bounce dimensions are labeled on the back of the wedge.

I’ve had them for a while. They keep getting better and better for me. In particular the 55/13 and 61/07 grinds are so versatile and glide through any type of lie.

I see what people are saying about the feel - I thought that at first, but what I’ve found is that the sweet spot for feel is extremely small. You have to compress it perfectly to get the signature feel. If you scoop, glance, or miss the sweet spot, the feel drops off dramatically even though the performance is still good.

Take some time on a grass range to really pure one - I’d be surprised if you aren’t amazed by the feel.

I have had them since February and they are great. One negative is they wear much faster than my prior Mizuno T7 wedges which were softer. I have played Mizuno Wedges for years. The MP20 Wedges are not as soft as prior versions but still you could buy a lot worse wedges that are cast and cost more.

I have them in the 50,54 & 60. You are either going to love or hate them would strongly suggest getting fitter as mentioned previously they are extremely flat and compared to the T-7 the head weight is noticeably lighter. The 60 with 6 degrees of bounce has a rounded leading edge and the grid is not as aggressive as I personally prefer for a low bounce option.

I have a 50 degree raw with Modus 125 coming as a gap wedge with my 919T set. Can't wait to try them!!

Has anybody played the TM MG2 and can compare them in terms of spin and flight?

I traded in 3 TM MG2's for the T20's.... no particular reason other than I just bought MP20 irons (coming from TM irons) so wanted wedges to match my set. Personally I think the MG2's have better feel but the T20's do have a noticeably lower flight. Dry spin id give the edge to MG2, but wet lies id give it to T20 hands down. In my opinion id say they are the best 2 wedges out right now from the major OEM's

I play most of my rounds early mornings with dew still fresh on the ground and that is where I have really found the T20's to shine vs any other wedge ive played

I switched from Vokey to S18s 50 54 and 60, I recently sold them with my mp18s (getting JPX919 Tours) but I picked some Callaway Md4 54 60 and so far so good, I like em so far, I'm just tried them stock but putting in KBS shafts tmw and see how they feel.

I admit I do regret selling my s18s, and after playing the MD4s I decided to order T20 gap wedge to match up with my 919s, I can see myself getting more T20 lol

I think mizuno wedges are very underrated , strength of my game is my short game, saves me more than my putter haha

Feel pretty subjective and I don't find them any less soft than any other wedge, but I play them with a KBS Tour and love the set up

The T20 I'm trying with a Modus, so far so good, T20 54 60 with modus 130s in raw are likely in my future lol

I went RTX4 just because of feel. T20’s are probably the softest wedge I have hit in the last 5 years. I’m used to a bit more “mash” with my wedges and I got a mix of both with the RTX4’s. T20’s are amazing in feel and performance. They basically throw the whole forged versus cast debate on its head.
