was this supposed to be a thread about how the PM changes or does not change your swing? And how each owner's progress is going? It's now a thread about product planning, deliveries, ebay auctions etc, talk about hijacked.

It peeves me when instructors IG post before and after, when the student is doing only half swings in the after. See it all the time.

Ok guys I will make an attempt to bring some progress report on doing the new protocols with PLANEMATE! So last nigh I worked on the 1st and 2nd videos for the new protocols. Focused on making the 30 reps on each, combining the two videos. Got to say they were right, I am sore this morning after working hard to feel a good stretch and hold the desired position. After I did these outside I took off the planemate and went inside and did the same moves again in front of the mirror, again focusing on getting in the right positions and holding them. What I loved was that after using the planemate the ghost swings almost felt like someone was holding the club and guiding it along for me. I'm excited and will probably work on these two videos again tonight before I move on. I'm excited to get back to work on these new protocols and keep improving.

If you can't get a half swing right, you can't get a full swing right. In reality most major flaws manifest themselves early and can be masked/compensated for if you have more time (ie making a full swing), but can be magnified when only making a half swing (ie much less time to compensate)

I get it. It just irritates me. I already know almost always when I see the side by side that the after is a half shot or drill that looks a lot better. Now if the after is a full swing with the better positions thats impressive.

Well, continue on with your outrage. If you want to to chalk up the planemate as a bogus item, dive right into full swings. If you want to make a measurable change, follow the protocols and start with chips, half shots, 3/4 shots as they prescribe. You can't build a pyramid without a big solid base.

 

If these instructors are using the PM with new students for the first time, there is little/zero value in diving right to full swings. Even for regular lessons sans planemate, a lot of the work on the lesson tee might be with 1/2 shots.

Just purchased one as "pre-order." Said it will ship on February 24th. That's a long wait, but you can't really fault them for that. I don't expect this to be a magic bullet but was someone who has struggled with chronic steepness, I'm hoping this will be helpful.

I didn't mean to give the wrong impression. I think the planemate is a solid device. I don't own one but simply envisioning how it works and what it would feel like has made a positive impression on me.

It is a great device, it's just not a miracle device where you are going to fix all your woes in one session. Those type of expectations are unrealistic, you still need to put in the work. I'd venture that 95% of the folks who have not had success with it, skipped through the protocols and tried going right to full swings.

Finalized new place today and emailed Tourstriker to update address. They promptly responded that they have the logistical capabilities to handle the various operational threads necessary to address the mechanics of such a request. So I'm all good with them now.

I honestly don't understand how this will help. The resulting swing with it on looks ok but won't it end up training the opposite movements when you take it off?

If there is resistance pulling I would think this trains muscles to push.

I used it once and that was all I could think of.

Watch the Be better golf review on the planemate. I can’t speak first hand here but, the tool is teaching feels as well as avoidance. You want to avoid feeling slack in the back swing, avoid feeling tightness after shallowing and the downswing, and avoid getting tangled in the follow through as that would represent a flip or handsy release.

I guess you can compare it to resistance training. But that is a whole bother animal.
