I feel like that could happen. I don't think it's about the money. Being sponsored by TM be would still kinda be in Tiger/Rory shadow. I feel like he wants to separate himself as even with all his accomplishment, he still has at times taken backseat to bigger faces. With Mizuno he would be THE guy. The equipment obviously matters a lot to him, but I feel like Mizuno can finally compete across the whole bag. I doubt he changes putter, but could see a 13 club deal.

 

Maybe a JPX driving iron to come if so?

I don't think it's his driver. I've seen videos on IG from Claude Harmon and he has been using the SIM out there.

That’s the key, finding what works for you in their line of shafts. I’ll tell you this: nobody puts more time, effort, and quality into their products than @Fujikura Golf . I can personally attest to that ?.

This has nothing to do with how good Mizuno's lineup might be. Brooks has stated that he doesn't want to be beholden to equipment companies. If he signs a deal, suddenly he's on the hook for promotional outings, photoshoots, implicit pressure to put new gear in the bag, etc. There is a lot more that goes along with endorsement deals than simply getting paid to play the equipment. He is on record as saying he doesn't see a reason to sign a deal.

Given that context, money would be the only thing driving him signing a deal, as he already has access to whatever equipment he wants to play. And as I stated in my first post, the money required would be far too great for Mizuno, and Brooks said he doesn't care about money to play clubs (again, he turned down no strings attached "free money" from TM).

Big names to small OEM’s have come up many times over the years. It never pans out bc it just doesn’t make financial sense for the company. Mizuno has a tiny budget for marketing and paying players (if any for the latter these days). Maybe this time It will be different but I doubt it.

Ignore my terrible tv photo but that’s a SIM with his trusty Diamana in it.

IMO with the way Brooks talks about equipment it is going to take him a lot to switch from his usual TM head + Diamana combo. Maybe I’m wrong! Worth noting the free agent guys switched quickly to the new SIM but if I’m not mistaken the same thing happened from m3/4-m5/6.

Hello - Mizuno can afford it, but they may not be willing to pay. Most Japanese companies wont write big checks. The only one thus far has been Srixon.

And yes I hope he is gaming a ST200, but he seems to stick to what works for him, so it may be just for fun on the range.

Even Srixon has limits. They wouldn’t pay the money needed to have Matsuyama play the driver because they could put 5 pros in their ball for the same price
