Ventus black vs Hulk vs T1100

Recommended Posts

Alright guys, I have these 3 shafts on my radar to give a try. Have not hit any of them but have read a lot on them and these are the ones I’ve narrowed it down to.

Does anyone have any direct comparisons in launch, speed, dispersion? More specifically guys who bring at least 120+ club speed. Im certain the T1100 will feel the “stiffest” (which I prefer) and probably ventus black the “smoothest” but I’m not really concerned about any of that. I play a total headweight 208-210g and d5-d7 SW. I’m looking insight for strictly performance and stability.

thanks!

I am at 121mph and played the t1100 for a bit. I did not Find it any stiffer then anything else I have played. I thought the tensei orange felt stiffer then it did. You have the speed to load any of them, just a matter of it helping you time it right.

yeah I was referring more on the stigma that the t1100 is “boardy” or what have you. I love that type of feel honestly. Low torque and boardy feel is all good with me. I’m just wondering on what guys of my general speed have found with the playing performance of these shafts, apart from how it feels.

I have the Ventus blue and the Hulk. They are wildly different but both very good. I love the feel of the Ventus and I love the mid launch. The Hulk when I square it up give better ball speeds but I am a little less consistent with it.

Bump Bump, this thread deserves more attention given these are the latest and greatest STIFFEST shafts out there.
Would love to hear opinions/experiences from the folks with high SS's that have used these 3 because I have all 3 waiting for tips for my various heads but cant decide which combos to go with..........@Rosco1216 I see you're still playing the T1100 so that must mean it beat out the other 2?

Did not like the Hulk personally. Felt extremely boardy to me for some reason with very little tip deflection which made it hard to control strike. T1100 is much smoother than it was marketed and I am still playing around with a couple that I have in the stash. It has the feel that I prefer in a driver shaft except for the counterbalance but that can be managed pretty easily with the proper head weight.

Ventus Black is really, really good and one of the best Fuji shafts I’ve tried in a long time. More lively than the other two but still holds up very well to whatever you can throw at it. I need to give it more time in the right head but I could happily game it or the T1100 for a long time.

Hey guys, sorry I’ve been out of commission lately! I just got around to building up a new driver to test and have hit balls just once since. Only 3 times so far this year but finally getting around to doing some full testing. I just picked up a g410lst and had it digitally lofted and playing at 8.2*. Current shafts I’m testing are the t1100 and the new RIP X. T1100 is tipped 1.5” and the RIP X is tipped 2”. I have the t1100 playing at 44.75 and the RIP at 45”. Like I said I’ve only hit about 8-10 with each and that was still trying to work off a lot of rust.

The T1100 certainly feels firmer which is what was expected but I love a shaft that 90% of the golf population describe as “boardy”. However, if I get on the course and monitors and notice a significant loss of ball speed and distance I won’t game it. I’m willing to give a little and may end of have it be my shorter/control set up for when the course calls for it.

The RIP I’ve only been able to hit 8-10 total(I hit the t1100 some in my triple diamond) so I don’t really have much feedback yet.

Lmk how it’s going. Just ordered the hulk for driver and after I hit it I will be going with that in 90g, tz5 in 100g, Ventus in 100g, or ripx 97g in my fairway wood. Curious what other 120ss guys went with in driver and fairway

The hulk. Anyone that can fit into that shaft, I highly highly recommend you try it out (especially you roscoe because you seem to have similar swing speed numbers to Cameron champ) I’ll try and post some gcquad numbers later but I’m absolutely in love with it, best driver numbers I have ever posted. I was a big fan of HZRDUS black, but apparently it was too weak For my swing after trying this thing out. I have not missed one right in the 50 drives I have hit with it. I will be waiting till I can get this in 90g for my 4 wood. that’s saying a lot, cause I believe the Accra tz m5 series to be my favorite all time and didn’t think it could be replaced before now

MY driver ss is only 112, but I have Hulk in my driver and 5 wood with the T1100 in my 3 wood. Absolutely no complaints. As a lefty golfer, I needed to take the right side out of play. These accomplish that mission and IMO, they feel great. I love HZRDUS shafts and have yet to find anything that I like better. These shafts are long, low spin and reliable. Most recently put Tensei Orange Pro in TX flex to the test, but it felt too loose for me. I am curious about the Ventus Black and I am sure I will at some point try it, but I do not expect it to take the Hulk down.

When people are referring to the hulk shaft in this thread, are they referring to the TX flex? The Hzrdus Smoke Green in all flexes besides the TX flex have a different bend profile so I want to make sure that the two aren't getting confused. The bend profile of the flexes other than TX is similar to the Hzrdus Smoke but just a touch stiffer. The TX HULK shaft has a MUCH stiffer mid and tip section than even the X flex.

In my opinion the Ventus Black and HZRDUS Hulk TX are very different. The Ventus has a very smooth, linear feel where as the Hulk feels heavier and stiffer but the loading and unloading of the shaft is more pronounced. I think the Ventus Black is more consistent but the Hulk has potential for the bigger ball. Both great shafts depending on swing and what you are looking for out of a shaft.

i don’t think the pro white and the smoke green can be put in the same category. Built for two completely different animals in My opinion. i’m starting to think anyone that can hit the smoke green should also be trying alternatives like the 2X Stuff Some companies make. Not sure how you get your hands on them

edit. Smoke green tx

also, why 80tx? In a driver? I’m not surprised that Felt stiff and boardy. That works great in 4 wood for me. I think at that stiffness you may find llighter weight ranges work for you now.

I'm currently gaming the original t1100. I haven’t had the opportunity to try the black or hulk yet. My rip x is a 65tx but it’s too light for me. Looking to go back to the mid-upper 80g in the driver.
