Driver Sweet Spot & CG

I seem to heel drivers that have sweet spots further from the shaft, is their any relevance to this or am I crazy?

Maybe the distance/offset of the sweet spot from the shaft is a perceived thing as well, dependent on the head shape. Ping drivers appear to be extended out more, while TM offerings as of late appear more heel biased in location. Is there any validity to this rationale????

If your impact location is consistently in the heel, the likely cause is that your shaft is too long. CG/sweet spot should have no influence on where the club is delivered.

It seems totall head dependent though, and I already play my drivers short. Just making possible observation. Some heads at address are not symmetrical about the ball, and at times the cg crown mark "appears" closer to the heel. I'm just observing where this location is with respect to the heel-to-toe dimension. Sometimes is close to 50% like Ping, but with TM and sometimes Callaway the spot is 35-40% out to the toe dimension.

Lastly, it's much easier for me to consistently middle a pattern on smaller club heads.

Do you line up the ball at the cg at address? I would line the ball up on the heel with my cobra drivers and it worked fine. I kept hitting heel shots with my Mizuno st190 so now I line the ball up in the middle of the face in order to get consistently solid contact.

The alignment aid on the crown does not necessarily line up to the CG in the heel to toe dimension (the CG for most drivers on the market is closer to the heel due to the added weight of the adapter/hosel and some companies adjust the crown alignment aid accordingly). Also, sometimes the slope of the crown at address makes it look like the alignment aid favors one side when it really is centered.

If you are lining the ball to that at address and find yourself impacting closer to the heel, you can either A) move your address position back a bit and align slightly towards the toe or B) shorten your driver shaft a bit more (although this has further implications).

Not according to the c.g. data on the site that shall not be named. It shows a pretty equal spread of heads with the c.g. on the toe side as there are heads with c.g. on the heel side. The designers really do know how to compensate for the hosel/adapter design.
The 'center' alignment mark on the top of the crown is frequently moved toward the heel side intentionally to compensate for the players perspective at address.

Depends on what year you are looking at. If you consider all drivers that they have tested since they started their report in 2015 (select all years in that Tableau chart), you will see far more right of the centerline vs left.

True, heel side c.g. percentage does increase but blaming the adapters is still premature. There are still plenty of toe side designs with adapters. Heel side C.G. is also a way draw bias can be designed into the club. And that's a much more common and popular marketing strategy.

do you like it up with the driver grounded? Try to setup with the driver elevated a bit then set it on the ground to see where it lines up.

Just looking at the face, in a perpendicular fashion as well, some drivers have a face which is heel biased as a whole, where the face ends "prematurely" out on the toe, as the crown/head continue outwards and finish the outer most perimeter of the head. Again, just observations that may hold no merit to actual functionality of each club.
