What's the benefit to a separate line? Can bend these even further to get 3-4 degrees stronger than T100? If using at standard lofts for T100s you don't have to worry about them bending back toward standard lofts over time in T100?

Well this is just great. I bought 718 CB’s with Project X LZ 6.0’s and use them every day at the range as my practice set to make me a better ball striker. I finally bought the T100’s on Halloween with the stick Stiff AMT Whites as my gamers. I love my T100’s but often wish they had the LZ’s. My other concern is that I’m 5-10 yards shorter that I want to be with my 4 iron, but being 150-155 with a seven iron still seems adequate. Three months later the solution to my problem is presented with the T100-S. Despite being a bit of a financial gut punch, I’m still grateful for the enhanced fit. Luckily my wife who rides with me just about every round I play has heard me bring up this subject so many times that when I forwarded her this article she said “Don’t worry Honey, we are on the same thought process and consider this a shared goal. We can get them and trade in your T100’s”. I hope other WRXers are as blessed as I am in a partner.

I love that Titleist is doing these "power spec" irons. I have noticed in fittings that more and more people are going away from the "traditional" lofted irons but still want a soft forged feeling. I will definitely be giving these a try

Other great benefit of these are if you want to weaken the lofts back to std t100 specs to take offset away

No, you hit a 30 degree iron as far as i hit a 30 degree iron. Yours just has a 7 stamped on it so you're cool.

Irons used to be considered as scoring clubs, now they are becoming distance clubs. At the end of the day it is just a number at the bottom of the club. A side note: even if it was legal, asking someone what club they used is next to useless today. I have seen 21º 5-irons and 28-degree 5-irons.

Love it. I liked the T100 but wish they had a little less offset and wish they dug a little less. Weakening these a degree or two might accomplish both.

I don't get why anyone would want a 44 degree PW but I do like the fact that I can now buy this fancy new 3 iron, bend it one degree and use it as a 2 iron. My one gripe with my current set was that they didn't make a 2 iron option.

People who have "buyers remorse" because they bought the T100 need to realize something. If you need the stronger 2 degrees of loft, you were not fit into the correct iron. Don't be mad that Titleist released a new, shiny product. Be mad that you bought a set not fit for your needs.

Based on the articles out today around the release there was no intention from titleist to have this line but based on player and fitter feedback there as a demand for the look and feel of the t100 but with more distance. They took that feedback and designed a stronger lofted t100 with a different sole and cg.

I like that they took feedback and designed a club and released it now rather than wait til the next release in summer/fall 2021

Yep. Even loft alone isn't enough to tell...someone may have a hot faced iron. The guy playing forged shouldn't bother "asking".

Frustrating every Titleist release is followed up with another a few months later. Really wish we could get this all at once. But I'm sure they do this on purpose.

they have the t200 to kinda fill that spot right and maybe they were planing something like this or similar for the next release but after the amount of feedback up the timeline to do a “mid-cycle” release

T100 profile is very nice, I can see why they would do this, especially for players that fit more into the T200 but really really wanted to fit into the T100 because of the looks/shape/feel.

Plus, if you bend these weak, you get even less offset which is basically what every WRX'er says they want, LoL.

I kinda like the idea of a 48 degree wedge to a 25 degree five iron. 48 degrees is what I want a wedge to be and having a 4+ Iron as my longest iron isn't bad either. I also like the 4 degree progression from 48 degrees to 30 degrees. The numbers on the bottom don't matter that much. I predict they will sell a bunch of these.

I am getting the feeling Titleist is losing their mojo. Maybe from a brand perspective they are realizing they are getting behind and are scrambling to create buzz for something other than the ball. I am completely guessing and have zero insight here.

 

EDIT** I did just think of the 690 DOT heads. They were essentially the result of the same thing. A re release of the same heads with just adjusted lofts and bounce.

I can't understand the negativity towards this release. It is another option to choose from. That's all.

 

As mentioned earlier in this thread, if you happened to buy a set of T100 and they were not the right fit for your needs, then that was your own mistake. Don't get me wrong, I have often purchased equipment because it was new and shiny and 'close enough'. Still, I never blamed a company for releasing a more suitable product later on when I knowingly made a compromise with my original purchase. If your set of T100 was correct for you when you bought them (and they should have been for you to pull the trigger), then there is no reason in the world you should now suddenly need 2 degrees of stronger loft.

 

On the other hand if you stayed away from the T100 because you wanted more distance, or you didn't like the offset (which is minimal anyway), then guess what - you now have a more attractive option available. How is that not a win??

I'll never understand why people switch to titleist irons and claim they hit them short, you hit them short because the loft is traditional. These are built to fight the apex pro/p760 I'm sure. OR you can learn to compress your irons LOL

People will always find a reason to complain. Nothing new here. But now I can order a nice custom set with T100s pw - 8 and 7-5 in t200s.
