As with most tour pros, I would imagine it is just about finding the right feel parameters for them while maintaining the shot shape and flight window they are after. To be fair as well, since the Ventus uses super premium pre-preg (90T carbon fibre) it is exceptionally smooth. I've fit X into it before many times when it other shafts it would often be too much. So they likely needed to drop the torque down a hair without influencing the weight too much.

I think Lexi needs some new grips on her irons, those are crusty. Interesting bag tho!

It is also a very light weight version of that shaft. She is playing the 50 gram version.

I find the LPGA bags much more interesting.

The Rifle 5.0 flex iron shafts are noteworthy. Not your typical regular shafts. People who complain that Rifles are boardy often are in too stiff a flex. I find them to be a half- to full-flex stiffer than others. The 5.0 can handle a lot of power, as Lexi demonstrates. It weighs the same as the 5.5.

Agreed, they are going to be pretty similar to something like an S300 in terms of overall stiffness. I honestly would be surprised if she opted for something softer like that for hand/wrist feel with how steep she is. Going into the turf the way she does would feel like murder with something like a PX 6.5.

Surprised she hasn’t switched to the new Speedback driver yet. Would have thought during the holidays season is when the players tests and make the switch. Have to think Cobra wants her to switch.

I'm still amazed that she uses S2's. They were outstanding in their day. Great feel!

I still do when I buy a new one or have one reshafted. I find the setting I like and have the guy I use to pure it. I don’t really know how much it helps now but years ago when I was hitting and swining it faster (pre cancer and multiple surgeries) I could see the dispersion difference (this was before adjustable sleeves). So I still do it as he doesn’t charge much more to do it.

I’ve seen a few on eBay. I bought my son a 5S Ventus Blue for his Ping 410 Plus for the upcoming HS golf season.

All the blue reminds me of my first real set of clubs when I was not tall enough for men's - instead of the suggestion some be cut down I convinced my dad to let me get some Kathy Cornelius irons and woods from Austad's back in the early 70s (now that was real mail order). Blue heads on the woods, blue script on the irons. Luckily a growth spurt my sophomore year of high school got me into some Nicklaus "classics" - loved those clubs.

Graphite shaft manufacturing has become so consistent, puring is almost always a waste of time. Russ Ryden of golfshaftreviews has stated as much when he quotes exceptional (98%+) radial consistency numbers from pretty much everything he tests. He test primarily aftermarket shafts, so its possible quality could be a little lower for OEM shafts. Even so, people get excited about where shafts are made. That a Japanese shaft is high quality with tight tolerance, and a Chinese shaft is junk. Meanwhile, the Chinese made Mitsubishi Tensei shafts did extremely well last year.

As a side note, shafts that aren't round would make an adjustable adapter highly problematic.
