Cleveland Smart Sole 4.0 - Anyone hear anything about these?

I was searching Global Golf and came across the 4.0 wedges for this line from Cleveland. I even found a couple on Ebay. I searched Cleveland's website and didn't see anything on their for them. As a fan of this line (owner of Smart Sole 3.0 C wedge currently, and previous owner of S wedge) I am intrigued by what I saw on Global golf. They now have a G wedge (50*) to go along with the C (42*) and S (58*) and are stating "new aggressive milled groove that will generate better spin performance from any conditions". That statement right there is what got me intrigued as that was the issue with the S wedge, little to no spin. Same can be said for the C wedge as well.

Curious if anyone out there has info to pass along on these new wedges. Being a high capper I am a fan of this line as they are great for those who lack good wedge play.

I have the Smart Sole C in the bag and love it. Not sure you need the rotex grooves/face on that one because you are doing chip and runs, you want the ball to roll out. I haven't seem the new Smart Sole 4 but I'm intrigued.

You should check out the CBX2. I find them a lot more versatile than the Smart Sole but still super forgiving. Nice thing about Smart Sole is you don't open the face, especially in bunkers but sometimes it nice to play around with trajectory a bit.

@ShallowbutDeadly I am with you on the C wedge. I absolutely love that club. So much so I own 2 of them. One for my 30 yard and in pitch shots or bump and runs from around the green and a 2nd one set up with a longer shaft (36" inches) for my 90-100 yard full swing shots. I seemly am able to consistently hit that yardage surprisingly with the set up of my 2nd c wedge. Being that I struggle with my scoring clubs from 100 yards this set up isn't going anywhere any time soon.
The new 4.0 G wedge could be a good club for me for try to help round out my wedges for the bag as I have gaps. I struggle with hitting traditional wedges consistently so I gravitate towards more forgiving game improvement wedges. Till I can get my wedge game worked out the smart sole series is what I would most likely stick to.

Love my C as well!

Interesting setup on the 36" club. That would be tough for me to hit full because of the 66* lie angle. My irons are typically a lot flatter but I know some guys love to hit the C with full and 3/4 shots, nothing at all wrong with that if it works.

I noticed the photos on Global Golf don't show a milled face, which I thought they would upgrade. I love the milled face on CBX2 wedges, they should carry that over to the Smart Sole collection.

Smart Soles are awesome, easy to hit and built for the average golfer, Cleveland is doing some awesome stuff.

@Tanner25 I have the 4.0 G and S wedges. I have gamed them all season. I found them to be really easy to hit, and also hit my yardages. I still own the C wedge, but have pulled it from my bag and have worked on using the G wedge for my pitch and chip shots. I find I am able to control the spin just a little bit more then with the C wedge. I get more roll out with the C. Now I have not tried the 4.0 C wedge which Cleveland has said was to provide more skin than the 3.0. With all this being said I have progressed with my wedge play that I have gone to the CBX2 wedges and just put those in the bag. I want just a bit more spin around the greens and think these can provide that. I am gonna game these the rest of the year and see how it goes. I reshafted them into the shaft I was fitted into. So hopefully I will get the results I am looking for. If u are on the fence about try the smart sole line up jump off and give em a try. I loved em and still holding on to em if this experiment with the cbx2's doesn't work out.

I'm a 3.0 C owner and it just gives me so much more confidence than anything else that I've had in my bag from short chips off bare lies which with my home course, that I play 95% of the time, has a LOT of those.  I've worked hours and hours on improving technique, but those bare lies are killers for me at times.  The C helps, doesn't solve the issue, but definitely helps more than anything that I've yet to try.

If I were working from fairways and areas around the greens that had grass to work with, I don't think I would probably still own this club.  However, that's not the case so I still use the club as that big sole just gives me the confidence to bump and run it towards the pin.

I also really like the C because it's just meaty and isn't trying to be delicate.  So, at times when I have a terrible lie or even sitting right next or even on a tree root, the C ALWAYS comes out.

That said, for decent lies, I go to my Vokey SM8's.  I feel much more confidence in them getting the ball close to the pin when course conditions are decent.  So for me, it's really just as much about what you're hitting from as it is the club.
