@pga43 does it say "Boron Tip" towards the tip of the shaft by any chance?

We are working on bringing 2nd Gen Tensei product to market - this is the first week of PGA Tour testing.

Be sure to stay tuned for more information towards the beginning of 2020!

Sweet... but may I suggest the top section have a tinted clear coat to match the color of the band? Would transition much more seamlessly and that bright silver woven graphic may become a bit distracting if it reflects the sun. They look a little choppy as is.

I think adding a color from the bend profile band ruins the clean look of the shaft graphics. Plus, the silver handle section is to highlight the aluminum vapour fibre that is used in the butt section.

I agree, plus its all about the appeal of the "visible tech", in this case with these aluminum fibers.

I have one of these shafts and I don't think it is distracting personally. I have not installed it yet but you have to bear in mind that the grip will be covering a decent amount of the silver anyway.

Does this mean prices on previous generation will come down? Thinking about pulling the trigger on a PO for my M2... I actually like the graphics on the new shafts and honestly, if you're seeing that far up the shaft on your swing, you probably shouldn't be playing these shafts anyway...LOL

The Tensei ck stock shafts and the Tensei ck Pro shafts were completely different animals. These are likely the "2nd gen ck Pro" line utilizing the Aluminum Vaper (AV) material instead of the carbon kevlar (ck) in the handle section.

They're related in that they will possess similar materials and bend/launch/spin concept will be the same as the stock AV shafts, much like the original ck line were, but there will be more and/or additional (Boron, MR 70) more expensive materials throughout the AV TX (AV PRO) shafts for better feel and performance.

I have the tour version av blue in all black. It feels amazing and the all black looks much better than this, and the blue weaving is subtle but noticeable so it it looks very cool.

I have a feeling that the Orange might be tricky with this AV design. It is a different beast within the CK Pro line as Tungsten was added to the handle prepreg for the purpose of counterbalancing the shaft while maintaining a soft butt section with a smaller diameter. Either they will be able to do the same thing with a hypothetical AV Orange, find another way to accomplish the same goal, or it will be a different design altogether.

That is just speculation on my part though, but I find it surprising that with the popularity of the Tensei Orange shafts that an AV Orange wasn't right out front, hence the idea that it might be more difficult.

There was a video on IG of the White today but didn't quite pan down to the tip to see if MR70 or Boron was written on there. Seems like a lot of guys trying the White AV 85 TX guesing it would be a good fairway wood part.

He never mentioned anything about the old ck and pro shafts. The AV blue which Titleist offers is a completely different feel and load. It’s the only version I have ever cared for. Definitely curious about a version 2 of the AV, unless it’s an updated pro blue or ck then I’ll pass.

They made the normal CK models in TX available to retail so I’d expect the new AV wilL be the same when released.

Looks like a typo on the Raw White 65TX. Guessing torque should be 3.0 and not 4.0.

Specs look great on all 3 lines. Interested to see if more guys who have been playing Tensei Pros in driver and fairways will make the switch to this AV Raw series. Also curious if the TX will be a different profile and/or materials like some of the past MRC lines have been.

Once again I am just baffled at what MRC is doing these days. Look at how many of their Big Name Tour pro's are playing 3-4 years old shafts (See D+ LTD's & Kuro Kage XT's Which both are incredible shaft that are better than their latest releases).

Looks like the Raws are another MP OEM type shaft with the TX model being made of "Better material"

The Raw Blue specs match the OG AV Blue it surely appears to the eye it's the same shaft.

No wonder they continue to lose market share to other companies. To me they are making a limited number of expensive shafts and giving them to tour player to make the Weekend golfer purchase a much cheaper shaft and think they are playing what the pro's play.

Excited to say the least for this one to be finally coming, TPO 70 TX has been in my bag for a long time and the new one felt great when I got to hit it back in Jan. Weights seem to be a few grams heavier on each shaft except the 85 model.

To be balanced about it, this is neither new nor an exclusively Mitsubishi thing. Fujikura and True Temper have been in there as well with confusing alternate versions of the ostensibly the same shaft. I agree that the increased obfuscation of what is what within a line is indeed frustrating, but I would hold off on making a judgement until independent EI profile data comes out on these, because I suspect the black and white "watered down" vs "premium" is shifting, i'll explain.

As far as Mitsubishi is concerned, what is a "made for" shaft has been evolving over the last 10 years. What started as maximum cost cutting watered down products have slowly morphed into what would likely be considered a premium shaft in the past as far as specs go. The acquiring of Aldila and the huge success of the Tensei line I think was a very big shift with some growing pains as more and more production was being moved out of Japan and America. The OEM shafts were slowly getting better spec wise from the Made For Titleist shafts to the D+/S+/M+ line to the LTD version of the same line, but then there was a hiccup with the Tensei shafts as the OEM versions had to cut quite a bit given the amount of more exotic materials (Less CK weave in the handle, no reinforced tip materials) in a shaft that I honestly think they weren't prepared for being such a success. Now the AV line is making fewer concessions there and is back on the improvement track that we have seen regarding the OEM shaft offerings. True Temper has been doing the same thing with the HZRDUS line. There has been a shift towards trying to merge the "aftermarket" with the "OEM" by both decreasing the manufacturing cost of the premium and raising the quality of the OEM.

But from a marketing standpoint, the AV line has been weird. After the massive success of the Tensei line, they release an AV Blue that just sits there by itself for a REALLY long time, and now there is a new "Raw" line with tons of options, but what about that AV Blue? From a customer facing standpoint I would have rather seen nothing until this AV Raw line was ready, but I imagine they were maybe out of sync with their release cycles vs. the OEMs and needed to get the AV Blue line out to capitalize on the next product cycle, or maybe they had a deal to fulfill with OEMs, who knows. All I know is that the bar was set high with the Tensei line and the follow up was probably a pain in the ass since they didn't want to step back but have already set a precedent for exotic designs/materials. Also the specs are confusing because the "TX" versions of the Orange and Blue look like they may be different profiles based on the very different torque ratings, but not so with the White. We'll find out if they get profiled independently I suppose.
