Skiing was spectacular yesterday. 1h45m up there from Parker at 7:30am. Keystone was practically empty, and the slopes were hardly icy for as little snow they have gotten. If not for a wreck on 70 near the Morrison exit, we would've been home in under two hours, too.

Hope the golfing was just as good.

Of course it was mid-70's in FL the week before we got down here. Now its been in the mid-50's to 60 with a chilly breeze so far this week. Still no sign of snow though, so the golf is definitely better down here than in CO. ;)

I'll be back in CO in a couple days getting ready to head down to Taos to for a ski week. Looks like they've been getting the goods while the Front Range CO mountains keep getting skunked for the most part.

I was in the Tampa area. It was warm right before we got there and now it's warm again after we left. Figures. Record breaking cold temps. It was in the 30's on quite a few of the mornings.

Not sure on the morning games in CS. Not sure if there is many in this thread from CS. There is some good tracks in the area so there probably is some. Might want to post up in the region section to see

Funny. We're considering a move to the Springs in 2021 because the housing market just makes so much more sense from an affordability standpoint. Give me a year and maybe we can get a game going!

Fun round yesterday at CG with Gmcourtney, Irvtrain and a friend. Conditions at Common Ground are firm / fast (dry) as would be expected this time of year. The greens the POA was popping a little and made them slightly bumpy and slow, but they held wedge shots better then expected.

Overall cant beat the weather and being able to play this time of year.

Wunderground is showing 58 next Saturday and 68 on Sunday.

I wish I was golfing. My alma mater has an event tomorrow morning at the Monet exhibit. I have no rooting interested tomorrow, but the Super Bowl should be amazingly competitive.

I finally played 9 on Sunday before the snow hit. Hit the ball okay. I also think I may have gotten beat by a 15 year old so I guess im good on no more golf for a few weeks ;)

Collindale Golf Course has been open to play only 3 days since Thanksgiving. The big snow we had then and poor snow melt due to cold weather and additional small snows has made this a horrid winter golf season. It snowed again the other day (2-3 inches) and it looks like a more snow into the weekend. It's the Groundhog's fault.

We had a couple playable days in Greeley. One of the courses was almost 100% clear. The other (public) one never cleared enough to be playable.

Glad I got at least nine in.

Sounds like a good time to road trip to Albuquerque for some golf =) (Though it is 6+ hour drive..........)

Crazy thing is that I got an email from Aurora's golf division saying that they had cart restrictions in place due to how dry it's been. I was in Florida and LA for the entirety of January and didn't swing a club. I come home on Sunday to great weather and then Monday whatever happened out there decides to roll in. Flying to Munich on Sunday and it's supposed to snow there too!

I give up. Maybe we'll finally be playing golf in May.

Glad to see the 2020 thread up and running. Hoping to play more this year, even if only 9 holes in the evenings. I missed my annual goal of 10 rounds per year in 2019 for the first time since my freshman year of college (let’s just say that was a while ago ...).

 

Thinking about either Walnut Creek or West Woods men’s clubs this year, maybe the CGA mid-am or sr am as well (if my game comes around).

 

Hope to see some of you on the course this year.

What's up everyone, hope all is well! Thought I'd check in again as I've found myself uninterested on Golfwrx where I haven't been reading the way I used to. Looking forward to getting out golfing again this year. Picked up a Mavrik and a two iron to tweak the game up a little bit.

Looks like it will probably be a couple more weeks before we have a strong chance of playing again. Anyone have any big trips lined up?

Anyone play CommonGround Men's club? I am looking to join a club this year and CommonGround is one of my favorite courses and seems to have a well-run Men's club. I live in Lakewood so it isn't exactly close, but between family and other activities I don't think I will play too many events so I don't mind a bit of a drive when I do. Any thoughts on this club or others? I have played around with doing FRGC as well. I live right near Fox Hollow but I think their Men's club skews a little older. I am mid/low-30s and would prefer to play a club with some younger folks (although I am sure that is rare).

I swear someone that was a regular poster here was a member at CommonGround. May want to search the 2017/2018/2019 threads. You might be able to find a younger-ish demographic with the GCAT and GWAT. Have you thought about the men's club at Meadows Golf Course?

Since the change over, though WRX seems to be getting better I have lost interest also on other aspects here. Only use it to keep in contact with players in this thread.

No big trips related to golf, one big one in October overseas baring the coronavirus. Have 8 months so either it will under control or......... LOL

I have to be in Dallas in a few weeks for work so going to stay over the weekend to play 4-5 rounds. Planning the Wildhorse trip again this year but that is just a norm now =)
