So we heard a lot about the process and how they have a few years of product features in the development stages at any time. So they could have a bunch of ideas for features and they get developed, tested, etc. over the years until a few of them make it into a driver.

I currently have a hybrid but I ended up getting more spin with the 5 wood which helps on a par 5 getting home in 2. Perry described it as “making the landing area on the green bigger” when you have more spin. I was carrying it between 240-250 and they launched nice and high which is great.

So I think we were all over 100 club had speed, but the principles should be the same across the SIM driver heads: properly fit heads and shafts will perform better. SIM has better aerodynamics than anything in the M line. SIM has higher MOI than any in the M line. It just performs beautifully.

I had a huge benefit from ‘16 M2 3HL to the SIM Titanium 3 wood (15*)

No more ballooning into the wind, great distance and performance on low-on-the-face hits (which is my miss), really good club.

The bigger head isn't an issue. The V-Steel sole really eases turf interaction. The staff actually said that they don't know why they let the V-Steel sole go away and not implement it in older models. They brought it back, and it works really well.

I am so excited to receive my clubs and hit the course. I'm sure I will have to answer a lot of questions, but that's why I went.

The technology is solid and captures the best of all worlds in MOI, forgiveness, and spin reduction. Match your needed loft with the proper shaft and it is gonna produce amazing results.

Love reading this stuff. Just another vicarious thrill for most of us here. When I read that response from TM that you guys were in for a "surprise" my first thought was I hope someone has a hernia cause it sounds like you'll be getting fitted for a Truss. I'm wondering if you guys can elaborate on what the Truss technology is supposed to accomplish? Also curious if the SIM Max is as overtly low spin as it seems to be in some reviews/videos I've seen? That was always my problem with the SLDR, along with its miniscule sweetspot. I actually played the SLDR in 12* and still hit knucklers. If the SIM Max spins just a little more but is substantially more forgiving I might just give it a go.

I don’t normally hit 3 wood if it’s not off the tee, but the 5 wood looked nice off the deck and not too big. Considering how well it performed on low-on-the-face hits, I’m very confident with it out of the rough

RE: SIM Max, the spin wasn’t crazy low, I ended up in the regular SIM only because I could move the weight into the toe to help with the left miss.

Truss was definitely interesting. Definitely a little different in the looks department, but not so much that I couldn’t get used to it. The idea behind it is this: mallet putters like the spider have great stability on off center hits because the weight is spread away from the center. Truss is supposed to bring more stability to a blade-ish putter, so think a blade putter that behaves like a mallet.

also, if TM comes out with the tagline “truss your putting stroke” as in “trust your stroke”, that was my idea

Is it safe to say that the Truss is not only more stable, but also more face balanced? It's hard to find good face balanced blades! If this is one, I'll give it a roll

That's the problem. Some people want flashy bags full of fancy equipment and ignore what works. I'll use a rolled up wet news paper if I hit it the straightest and furthest.

The Truss works, I was fitted for the center shaft model that is similar to a Model 7. The model I got is the TM2.

Did the TM guys mention anything about fitting the same shafts into the 3w and 5w that a couple of you guys went with? Interested to hear their thoughts as I’ve always thought going up in weight in a 5w shaft.

Sounded like a great experience, we’re all living vicariously through you gents!

They didn’t mention anything about it but I’d assume the difference between 3W/5W doesn’t change the characteristics much and the swing stays pretty consistent between the two (it’s not like the difference in driver and wedge swing)

They really didn’t mention anything to me in regards to this. Like Will said, the general shaft profiles will typically be the same. What usually changes is more in how active the tip section is. For fairways where you want higher launch and slightly more spin, a lot of times they fit guys to slightly more active profiles, but the same overall profile. I hope this makes sense!

For me, the theory on different shafts were to lower the trajectory and spin on the 15* 3w. I tried the 14* but couldn't get it up in the air high enough. The 15* set to the upright setting with a Fuji Pro 2.0 gave me the best results while the HZRDOUS Smoke yellow fit best for the driver.

He didn’t say anything specific to me but I ended up in 7x in all 3 and it was really just a comfortable weight and good feeling shaft to me. My timing was the best with them.

The hybrid wasn't a good fit for me. I have long arms and am only 5'9", so the lie angle is too upright for me. Instead, I fit into a P790 3 iron bent 1* flat and 1* weak. It was filling the gap between my 3w and 4i better.

I did hit the 19* but it had a regular shaft. Not the best for my swing speed, but I slowed down the transition in my swing and was able to hit it pretty well. It was easy to hit at different heights. I didn't try to work it in different directions because I only hit 4 balls with it. Turf interaction is smooth and the club seemed to glide well through the turf and didn't dig or bounce off the ground.

I think a lot of people are going to like the hybrid. A bit of knowledge that learned was that the hybrid is non-adjustable in order to allow for the largest pocket behind the face. The adjustable hosel takes a lot of room away from the speed pocket, thus providing less forgiveness on heel strikes. Making it non adjustable allows for more ball speed on the heel miss.
