Club memberships in New Orleans area

Moving to Metairie,Louisiana and wanted to get some details on clubs to join. Thanks for any info!

Slim pickings. Metairie Country Club(need sponsor) New Orleans Country club( need sponsor) TPC of Louisiana, just redone and pristine(West Bank) English Turn always in good shape(West Bank)

Any idea what the monthly’s and initiations are at those clubs?

If your moving to Metairie your best option is going to be TPC Louisiana. The yearly rate is right around $3000. English Turn is also around the 3k a year price. Metairie CC and New Orleans CC are on the higher end with high initiation fees and monthly dues.

I am a member of TPC and its always in great shape and just opened in November with all new grass, bunkers and redone drainage.

Where are you moving from and what type of club are you looking for? I don’t consider TPC a membership, nor a club. It’s public golf. Are you looking for locker rooms and multiple restaurants? Is pure golf your highest need? Kids/wife?

 

Metairie and New Orleans are your top Country Club experiences nearest you. Facilities are great course are well maintained the land is flat and unappealing for good golf. Pool, tennis, restaurants are awesome! 40k initiation fees

Good semi privates are within 30 min drive.

I know TPC is Pub, but I recently played it and it's in great shape:

If you want a true private club and not just a season pass you've got two options in the NOLA area, both beautiful old country clubs near one another actually. New Orleans Country Club and Metairie Country Club. Both are invitation only and have high initiation and monthly dues, but are full service clubs. I am a member of one and love it.

Otherwise, TPC, English Turn are probably best bets for season pass at public courses.

City parks Bayou oaks South is an option as well. 2700 ish a year for Mon-Sun, 1800ish for Mon-Thurs. Free range balls for the year (at 10 bucks a bucket you pay for the membership with 5.5 buckets a week). South course is nice, not the toughest course in town, but well kept.
