What is the one rule you wish could be changed

The logic is about preventing the use of another ball (or balls) to your advantage, eg 'backstopping'. There are other ways to deliver this objective, but I'm thinking a tidied version of this is the most efficient. The new clarification attempting to do this for strokes from off the green is rather a damp squid.

How about disallowing lineup line on golf balls? It's an unfair advantage. I mean, people get upset about being able to drop your ball from an unrepaired divot but they allow a line to be drawn on the golf ball for lineup purposes?

With that philosophy, as long as everyone can do it, rules can be changed all the time as long as everybody can do it. Likewise, everybody could use a belly putter if they wanted to because everyone has the option to use it. Sorry, your Theory doesn't hold water.

Is it even an advantage at all? But you're the one who called it an "unfair advantage", without explaining why you thought it was either unfair or an advantage. So first of all, its not unfair, everyone is allowed to do it. Whether its really an advantage is questionable. I don't really believe that anyone can align the 1.67" semicircle (its on a round ball, after all) accurately enough, both in rotational and directional alignment to provide any significant assistance.

Separately, how could you word a rule to do this, while still allowing a manufacturer to put his name on the golf balls? Would the names have to be curved somehow?

To me, such a change is both unnecessary and unworkable.

Belly putters ARE completely legal, that is, they are conforming by the Rules. So, everybody could use a belly putter.

Why ? Parallax error doesn’t effect everyone. Nor effect everyone the same. The line helps those who suffer from this.

Would be like a insta fix for the slice or an unhook able hybrid. It artificially evens the playing field. Also like anchoring.

How would that be written? The first time anyone got penalized for placing the ball incorrectly, there would would be quite a kerfuffle on the stupid rules of golf. And I'd bet a bag of donuts you'd be write in the middle of it, saying that you really wish things were black and white, not subject to interpretation.

I wrote a response. But then it hit me. How would you misplace the ball to run across this rule ? As in it’s either logo up. Or logo down. Right ? No grey area to be seen. Mark and logo on one side of the ball. Place it down. Easy. No penalty for zoom in camera catching a peek of the logo touching the grass turned down.

Golf balls have markings in more than one location. There is always a marking visible somewhere. And now you are going to create rules legislating how people put their personal marks on the ball, to make sure it's in one spot. To set on the ground.
