As mentioned, he's already in The Masters and British Open.

Top 60 in the OWGR (on May 18 or June 25) gets him into the US Open so he looks solid there.

His high OWGR ranking should also get him in the PGA in May. He was #71 in the world when he played the PGA last year.

So he gets four shots at the big one this year.

His performances over the last few days are up there with with his best in my opinion. Everything about his game was more or less flawless. I really enjoyed watching it unfold, his iron play was just incredible.

I do think however that the vast majority of his future wins will come on the European Tour. As good as he was today I'm not 100% convinced it would be enough to beat a full field PGA TOUR/Major event. All the same delighted he won. Definitely a player that has grown on me as he has gotten older.

If he does make the RC team I'd hope it's earned through form alone as I still don't think his mate Darren did him any favours picking him out of form in 2016.

Only other note is just how incredible this golf course is. Sets up really well and is a stunning backdrop for a marquee ET championship.

So glad to see him win, and it seems it meant a lot to him, his post round interview was moving.

Amazing win for Lee, just played terrifc, he hasn't practised too much and spent last week on the beach! This gets into the US Masters and the Open, and may open the door to a Ryder Cup return. It's pretty amazing that he has won in four decades, and about a dozen of the starting field this weekend weren't even born when he won his first tournament.

Mentally I think Westwood feels he has nothing to prove and everything from here on in is a bonus with regards to his career as it look liked he was completely winding down before his win in South Africa at the end of 2018, this can make him very dangerous. Of course if he was to be in the lead in a major then I'm not sure that mindset would help too much.

Interesting the interview I saw with him yesterday, seemed to sugest that his win brought him into the worlds top 50 and therefore qualification was gained through that. I wasnt aware that he had places already through his finish in Portrush. He spends a lot of time in the North East now and plays at my home club (Close House) and seems to be enjoying life to the full, which I'm guessing is helping him.

watched a recording of the last round today ... very impressed by westwood ... made some timely putts, chipped well & hit his mid/short irons very well ... would be great to see him contend at royal st georges this year ...

Sadly I suspect we will see him as the next European Tour great not to win a Major after Monty. I can see him doing well on the Seniors if he decides to go that route.

Westwood is now #29 in the OWGR rankings. He will have no issue getting into any event.

Why would that change at age 46?? He has 25 ET Tour wins and 2 PGA Tour wins in his career. Along with numerous wins in Japan and Asia that aren't co-sanctioned with the ET. He has had a great world wide career with around 40 world wide victories. Likely a future WGHOF inductee.

I didn't say it would change. The point being this is it for him in my opinion. The odd ET win where he is still competitive when on form. I don't see any big PGA tour or Major wins coming for Lee at this stage in his career. If you actually read my post nowhere in it did I say he has not had a good career either so I'm not sure why you're listing his accomplishments.
