Which 2020 Driver Did You Order?

I just placed my order for the Taylormade SIM 8 degree with HZRDUS Smoke Green 70 6.5. I had a fitting at GolfTec and loved the club. I played the SLDR for years and switched to the M5 last year. My spin with the SIM was 2137, carrying 289 and rolling out to 312.

What new drivers have you tried and what did you order for 2020?

I couldn't hit the SIM at all!!! really disappointed me b/c I love my m5.....ended up ordering Mavrik SZ 10.5 with Ventus Black

That's a great club too. I watched TXG's review on the SIM, Mavrik, Speedzone and G410LST yesterday, and they were all very comparable.

I watched this, too. Right after I got back from picking up a G410 LST, and it was the slowest of the group...LOL Cobra SZ surprised me, I guess I should have tried it...

I bought the Cobra SpeedZone, sight unseen. I had my best driving season (by best, I mean my misses were closer to the fairway) with the F9, and if the SZ can improve even slightly on that, then it would be worth it to me. I am not expecting it to be longer on well struck balls. I have gone back and forth between Callaway and Cobra over the years, and the F9 cemented my desire to have a Cobra driver in the bag.

I was surprised by that as well. Look at Cobra stepping up their game. I feel the same way that I should've tested all these drivers before buying the SIM but oh well. The SIM will do the job.

Great combo, enjoy! I almost went with the 9 degree but I plan to loft up a degree to close the face slightly.

I went with a Cobra SpeedZone with a GD IZ 7X. Now I just need to find the time to get out there and hit it!

Cobra SZ Extreme with PX Hazrdous Yellow Smoke firmly entrenched.  SIM 10.5 with Smoke Green on order but I will not even take it out of the packing before selling.  That's how happy I am with the SZ Extreme

Tested everything possible today at Club Champion and couldn't believe the results. I have never got along with Titleist drivers and have always been 10-15 yards shorter but wound up with a TS3 with Diamana BF 60. My club head speed was 3-5 MPH better with the Titleist than anything else.

Mav SZ 9* with the Aldila Rogue White. Got really lucky that a no upcharge shaft paired best with it for me this year.

My son has only used a Taylormade Driver in his 14 years of life. Has been gaming the Mavrik for about 3 weeks now. Said it was the best feeling driver he has ever hit. Didn't like the Epic or Flash at all. Better balls speeds coming off of this face than the M5.

Haven't pulled the trigger yet, but am definitely shopping... On my radar:

 

New Mizuno driver. ST200G. I'm a spin monster, it's allegedly the lowest spinning driver they've ever made... Just need to try it with a shaft I like and see how it does.

Cobra SZ. I've gamed Cobra drivers most of my golf life... Always gotten along with them! Waiting on my local store to get in some more shafts.

Mavrik. My junior pro just signed with Callaway, so I'll give this a try at a demo day.

 

Those are probably my top three... I'll hit the TaylorMade because why not? I'm most curious to try to Mizuno.

I'll wait until those hit the BST. Sim Max 9* with the Smoke Green 6.5 will be my one order without hitting purchase.

I haven't ordered a new driver yet, but I'm strongly leaning towards Mavrik or Speedzone. PING makes great drivers, but looks wise I preferred G400 over G410, and I cannot get comfortable with the shape of TM driver heads. I didn't like Epic Flash at all but man the Mavrik looks awesome (I love orange too lol). I haven't seen the Speedzone in person, but I liked F9 a lot and Speedzone looks like an improvement in every way. We'll see what ends up making the cut!

I do not. I played the SLDR for about 5 years before switching to the M5. I bought the SIM because of a connection I have.

I will probably buy Cobra SZ Extreme first (In a couple months when spring shows up) followed by the Callaway Mavrik Max & TM SIM Max sometime mid summer when they start turning up used on BST or the bay.

I just hit the Mavrik and TM sim heads ... had more speed and hIgher LA w standard Mavrik ... 9 degree head turned up to 11. Rogue white 70x. 16 launch and 2100 spin ... meow!

going back Thursday w my 400lst gamer (in sig) and a blue board 53x tour issue shaft to try in the Mav

i hit the longest drives (over 300) w the sim max with the green smoke ... but spin was only 1500

i don’t think their system was top level .. Edwin Watts in Destin ... not a trackman

will pay more attention in 48hrs

the Mav did feel better than the SIM, better feel than other recent Cally offerings
