I always gave Hack some leeway because he seemed so passionate about playing the game, but he is too much for me now.

 

Does Golf Channel give him a bonus each time he mentions his idol’s name?

 

Also, does he not realize that said idol doesn’t have the greatest reputation each time he trashes Reed?

Boy, Gary Williams is way off base on Cameron Smith on a Saturday morning.

 

He is reading into Cameron Smith's statements more than what Smith actually said. He is calling out Smith and claiming the Tour needed to/was right to shut him down because he mentioned the "cheat" word and ooooh can't have that. That's BS Gary and you are being an apologist for the Tour. Calling it slander - saying you don't respect or have time for people that cheat is not saying "Patrick Reed cheated" - may have been the message he was trying to convey, but Gary that is not what he said and what he said is in no way close to "slander", simply is not.

This isn't related to Morning Drive, but I'm not sure what other thread you read,and having a real life GC person on here, I figure I might try to pass it along through you.
Can you ask someone in the technical department to shrink the screen on European Tour event coverage when the banner comes on in the morning? the number of times you either can't see a putt or a graphic because that graphic has just been superimposed can get quite annoying. Is it not possible to just shrink the screen a touch?

Well, Hack has toned down the hype about Tiger, but it hasn't been toned down all the way. Now Paige and Damron have picked up where Damon has left off, at least for this week's tournament. RDD is realistic in saying that Torrey Pines is about hitting fairways, and that it will be Tiger's iron game that will be the difference. But as long as Tiger is in the mix, Morning Drive will champion Tiger, no matter who takes up the mantle. I get it.....

I don't disagree...I was just surprised at Damon's stance, almost an about-face, from being what I see as a Tiger apologist to a Tiger realist. I mean, I would like to take him seriously. Just be consistent. If you're going to go all-in, stay all-in. Just my opinion....

Doubt it.

Florida vibe always seemed pretty natural for all sorts of reasons, Arnold Palmer among them. The idea of the talent trudging through the snow in the winter to get to the studio seems odd. Good luck getting pros to just drop by.

Lots of teachers, pros and golf biz folks in . . . . . . Connecticut, lol.

I predict ......... a faux atmosphere nobody will buy and the ESPN-ization of whatever Morning Drive becomes.

Critics should have been more careful what they wish for, IMO.

They should stay in Orlando in the winter, and move to Latrobe in the summer. Just like the King.
