In my opinion, the new black Studio Selects feel much softer than the studio stainless. The carbon steel Pro Platinum also feels softer than the studio stainless. The studio stainless putters are very nice though, especially if you don't like soft feeling putters. The other big difference is the head weight. Most studio stainless and pro platinum (except the Mil Spec which were made in multiple lengths and weights) putters are 35" and 330 gr head weight. The studio selects can be purchased at various weights, but tend to be heavier (at stock configuration) than the older putters.

To me they feel softer and less clicky than the 2008-2011 studio selects. Compared to the pro platinum, they feel a tad firmer but less clicky, if that makes any sense. The studio stainless is more of a "ping" than a "click." The most recent black studio select feels the softest and least clicky, but I hated their insert-like feel. In my opinion the studio stainless feel the best of the bunch, even compared to carbon heads, and to top it off they don't rust and are maintenance free.

Alright, Thanks guys. Sounds like a great fit. I personally like my putters a little firmer. I have a studio select that I think is too soft for me. I always leave 10-20 footers a tad short. I also have a Nike Method that I feel is a little too firm. Can't wait to buy a Stainless. Any certain model you guys like better than any other?

There all good but it depends on what type of neck you like or if you need a sightline. I don't have any proof but I think the quality of the stainless is much better on this series versus the new ones. My favorite is the Newport Beach 1.5 and the Newport 2.5 both are flow necks.

What's the difference between the Newport and the Newport Beach?

On the scotty website I can't tell a difference.

The beached putters has a hidden sound slot in the face not a standard sound slot that goes all the way through the cavity. Feel wise? I would say it changes the sound and really gives it a unique/good feel when you hit the sweet spot. I personally prefer the hidden - "in face" sound slot to standard putter just for the audible feedback and feel. My Byron 612 has one and the new one I have on order will have one.
