Interesting bag. Big gap from the 13* 3-w to the Rogue 7w (and both glued hosels, right?).

Then there's those S200 shafts. Common here in Japan, but I don't think I've ever seen them used elsewhere. What I personally find interesting is that he's playing DG S200 in his irons, which I can manage fine with, but a Kurokage (Silver Dual-Core?) 90 TX flex in his 7W, which I am quite sure would just kill me.

Finally, there are those beautiful, beautiful raw wedges.

Sergio tried S300 for a time in his irons 10 years ago or so I think. The way he loads the shaft, that was more surprising.

Is his driver grip not aligned with the shaft graphics, or is the shaft rotated? Or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

 

And Greg, do you have any face pics of the SIM hybrid? I’m curious if they have score lines all the way across.

Per TM website the retail version of the SIM Max hybrid has the broken scoring lines. Perhaps there is a tour issue version with the solid scoring lines. I like that look better.

I know the retail version has broken score lines, I just assume that the tour version has solid lines. I kind of want to see what it looks like if so.

I have this club from the tour dept in Carlsbad. The lines are broken to create a circle in the sweet spot. This club was not necessarily made for the tour but it has gained a lot of attention because it is not a "hook" club that so many hybrid-Rescue clubs are. I have been hitting mine for three weeks and I absolutely love it. I often play with two hybrids and one has been in the bag since 2005 (Cleveland Hi Bore 16* plays like a two iron) and the other has been there since 2013 (TM RBZ Stage 2 Tour 5 set stronger to play like a 3 iron and bad lie club). This new SIM Max 3 is set to 18* and plays between the others but I have to pull one of the others out. I had it in Orlando last week and it is staying in the bag (haven't had to play to 14 club limit yet). This thing is a beauty, great control, real keeper! don't worry about the face lines enjoy the results!

I'd just like to see the faces of some tour clubs, to make sure they aren't a little deeper with solid scoring lines. Just to help decide whether to get one now to try, or wait until the tour heads become available (if there is a unique tour head). I honestly would be shocked if all of the TM guys are playing a head that matches retail, unless they have just put them in the bag to create buzz, and will revert to "tried and true" when the season really gets into full swing. I am not calling you a liar, I am just going off of past history that these types of clubs in tour players bags tend to have minor visual and performance tweaks beyond bending and hot melt.

Yes he was in the PXG class of 2016 with Zach Johnson, CH3, Billy Horschel, etc. He was gone from PXG some time in 2017.

I am not sure how to take your comments. My clubs are sent directly to me. Actually I get just the heads because my shafts are supplied to me directly from Fujikura. The Rescue came wrapped in plastic with the exact specs and weight. I wanted the 19*-#3 but stronger. So I received mine spec'd to 18* loft. I have had it for over three weeks. There was only one model of the Rescue. They didn't intend it to be a club that would get the tour attention that it has gotten. There are two SIM 3 wds with the same graphics. the "stock" head is at 180 cc's. The other not listed model (read Tour) has identical graphics in every way to the stock version (I am probably not supposed to mention it). it is about 10-12 cc's smaller. The score lines on the face of both is exactly the same and they have 6 unbroken lines. The Rescue has 5 score lines as previously described. There really isn't a reason to make another Rescue model due to what has been little tour use before and the success they have had with the original model. They can bend the face angle more open if required. I didn't ask them to do so on mine but it sits down really well and not closed. But I did ask for a slightly stronger #3 so it may have been bent stronger and as a result it would have been "opened"

I have not compared it to a commercial club to see if it was opened up. That is the only possible difference in the Rescues. There is not a smaller driver head option at this point. So as of now the slightly smaller 3wd is the only variation this year, but it is still larger than last years M5 3wd.
