Not really. The "hulk" is generally in reference to the TX flex, which is not offered by TM.

I have the Hulk 70TX (tipped an inch) and the OG Black in my hybrid (tipped an inch), so can only compare those two but would assume the driver OG Black shaft would be extremely similar if not exactly the same. Same linear feel, so no soft spots throughout the shaft but, the Hulk has a more stout/tighter feel with the expected tighter dispersion. Therefore, I really hope they come out with a Hulk TX Hybrid (I would pre-order immediately) because its just better but the black is still very good. I think thats the best way I can put it.

It kinda depends on what definition of "TX" they decide to use though as it varies between manufacturers.

Yeah it seems like TX these days is now more a different profile. Oddly enough older shafts rarely came in TX. Gotta feed the ego of golfers lol

I asked one of the large manufacturers how much stiffer is the TX than the X and below is their response copied/pasted:

"The only real difference is the TX flex is ½ to 2/3rds stiffer in flex than the X Flex. Weight and Torque are usually the same."

Therefore, because I get tighter dispersion with no loss in distance I go TX every time.

That is how Graphite Design does it I believe, which is the most logical, but with several other companies that has not been the case. Outside of GD, "TX" has been used to indicate the "premium" version of a shaft that uses high end materials, and often with a different profile as well.

So if I tipped a 6.5 70g hzrdus green (non small batch) 1" how would it compare to the 6.5tx "hulk"? I'm planning on ordering this in my speedzone next week. I've also got a phenom NL TX, and an elements platinum to toy around with. Anyone give me any insights?

Are there any hulk threads other than this one? Wondering if this was a good shaft or not? How did this compare to the T1100 and the ventus black? I need a new shaft for my driver.

I’ve used all three extensively. Those are the three shafts that have the longest stints in my bag over the last 3 years.

I found the Hulk much more lively than the T1100 actually which is not what you’d think. I actually went to a TX in it because I was hitting it very high. It’s a darn good shaft. I currently play the VENTUS Black 6X. It’s absolutely phenomenal and is closer to the T1100 for me. Hope that helps.

Driving has always been a better part of my game. Being long off the tee allowed me to cover up (stroke wise) my deficiencies around the game. Sure, I could be longer and still take two shots (within 100) and two putts and still sneak out with a bogey. Now that I’ve spent time and money (lessons) on my short game, I’ve gotten my handicap down to a 5.7.

 

all that nonsense out of the way, I’ve got a brand new Hulk in my garage that’s going to the shop tomorrow to get trimmed and placed in a sim hand. Really liked the hulk in my fitting and it fits my aggressive transition well. It also minimizes my left miss, which is nice. Excited to get it out on the course.

Yes and no. The Haz green and haz green small batch are the same shafts. The hulk is the PVD painted TX flex shaft. The TX is a very very different profile from the other flex profiles. It is extremely butt and mid stiff in comparison.

Is there a reason to toy with the hulk if the T1100 75g 6.5 tipped 1 inch is working? (Or any other shaft ventus black maybe?) I think the current shaft is a great flex for me. Would not want to go any weaker for sure. Could go slightly stiffer but not much.
