Odyssey putters - January 2020

Rife Aussie Mallet had triple track alignment years ago. It definitely helps but looked better then than it does on this. The Ping Ketsch uses three alignment lines and it is the easiest putter ever to align.

Triple Track - looks great in person and REALLY helps with the alignment and quickly too.

I would agree with you there. As a milled face guy, I find this insert firm enough and the audible click just about right.

TT putters hit the shelves today.

They really do look hideous.

That said, nice alignment feature with the TT ball.

Went in thinking these putters will not suit my eye, tried the Ten, didn’t like it, tried the blade, not a fan. Then I picked up the 2 ball blade and started messing around with it.....all I can say is wow, there’s something with the balance of this putter that really helps during the downstroke. It just feels so stable, not sure if it’s because of the dropped back weight or a combination of everything but this putter didn’t want to twist on me, I was sinking putts from 5-20 feet like nothing I’ve ever had before. I’m extremely picky with feel, one thing that really stood out to me was the solid, fully milled feel at impact, it had this solid tock at impact, similar to the Ping Vault line, didn’t have a TT ball to complement it, just using a Srixon Z Star and had absolutely no issues with alignment and to be honest, having a TT ball to go with this is completely unnecessary, just overall a very solid putter and one that will most likely go in my bag.

 

Try these before passing on them, you may be pleasantly surprised like I was.

Same experience here. I currently game a toe-up two ball blade from Japan and it fits my eye as well. Tried this new Two ball and same same, just deadly accurate. I understand that the striped alignment aids are for the triple track deal but for me, I don’t want or need the graphics. It’s already a two ball! I may buy anyway.

I really like Triple Track on my ball and in fact have started drawing it on my non Callaway balls with a stencil.

I checked out the new TT putters at GG today and just do not care for it. The putters look REALLY cheap and lining up the putter with the TT on the ball was annoying. It'd be impossible to get everything lined up EXACTLY right, so there's a tiny bit of discrepancy in the lines matching up that would drive me nuts.

Without using a TT ball, it's basically just the Marxmen alignment, which is certainly an effective alignment aid but nothing special.

Tell it brother. It was my first thought. And first time you see it, it will be for a double bogey. Bring the pipe.

They appear to line up exactly - which seems to be the point after all.

Yesterday the fitter at my store showed me their new contraption.

They have a white plastic "target", about 2 feet wide and 5 inches high with a black hole in the middle and alignment markings on each side of the "hole".

They mark a spot on the floor about 10 feet from the "hole".

Then they have you set up and align the TT putter with the hole. When you're comfortable you're aligned properly they put down a laser dead flat against your putter face and you see where you're aligned relative to the hole.

Then the have you put down and align the TT BALL, go through your routine, set up to the ball, aligning the TT ball and the TT putter (of course) and then they take the ball away and do the laser thing again to see how much better your alignment is with the combo.

Seemed to help a little bit. I was lined up to the left edge of the hole at first and almost dead center the 2nd time.
