I’m always interested in what Ancer, Fleetwood and Koepka are playing.

Chase just won a 2 day Minor League event in S. Florida using the Mavrik. His 2 day total - 16. Rounds of 60 and 64 on par 70 course.

i feel like a lot of the people that complain about not having tour issue stuff released to the public have no business gaming the product. i bought a epic flash 3D driver because i wanted to play what i saw on tour, but i couldn't keep that driver on the planet. people have to remember there is a HUGE gap between tour players and wrx's lol.

If I had as much money as brooks I wouldn’t sign a contract either. Play whatever you want. Any company will give you anything you ask for. A non contract top player in the world playing their equipment speaks more to the consumer market then Rory, di , Rahm Or tiger putting the latest abs greatest in their bag the moment it comes out

if its a ta serial its not the same as the pros it has to be a tc serial the triple diamonds released by Callaway in he flash were not tour issue they were tour authentic TA serial not the same.!!

Lets get this right, the triple diamond we get from Callaway is not the same as the one Brooks, phil, Xander etc are using. The serial starts TA on those the tour issue ones starts TC. People get so confused with tour issue gear in comparison to retail? Unless its a tour issue serial on that Club you are not using the same gear as the pros!!!

What percentage of people watching the Pros do you think know, or care, whether the Pro is getting paid to play the club or is playing it "on his own" ?

And "free equipment" ? Without a contract, how much is Brooks getting paid by Callaway for people to see him playing their driver ?

If he continues to play this driver and has success it's a grand slam for Callaway, No matter how many other free agents play the SIM. I'm guessing he has Issues with too little spin in his normal loft and face angle with the Sim and not wanting to loft up to open the face. He might not get along with the cog with his strike pattern in that loft. Rory seemed to have the same issues in the 10.5 at Torrey and I bet he also doesnt get enough spin with his normal loft and face angle with the Sim. Probably why he was originally suppose to in the Max

Yes pros get free equipment. Look at Sergio with his mix of ping and TM. Asked ping to build him a setup and they obliged. It’s free advertising for the brand.

I should have been more clear. I know pros get free equipment. I wasn't "surprised" that they did.

My point was, who cares ? The pros can AFFORD to pay for it if they wanted to. But free equipment is certainly not worth more than being paid via contract to play it.

Thus the question "how much does Brooks get paid by Callaway for playing their driver" ? If he had a contract we'd know. He doesn't. So what's in it for him, besides playing the best driver for HIS game (for free) ?

It’s more money wining a tourney. Unless a big name club contracts aren’t that big. It’s a nice nest egg especially for those who aren’t in top 100 or maybe even top 50.

Most tournament payoutS for the winner is upward of 800k+ depending on the event. Being able to play what works for your game and not under contract to play what’s available from your sponsor. Look at Phil struggling to try and put epic flash in his bag last year or Spieth always playing older gear that’s he’s more comfortable with.

Edit: This is interesting because I thought I had seen some tour issue Epic Flash fairways that were TA/TAF serials, but I went back and checked and they are TC. Thought I had read in the past that TA/TAF was still tour issue, but perhaps not. Personally I do believe the triple diamonds are the same because it wouldn’t make much sense to have yet another mold just for a limited release product. Would have to see if any of the triple diamonds on tour are TA/TAF, maybe some old WITB photos will show it. Just my opinion though.

That may be the Callaway Mavrik Max, single diamond......it has the subzero weighing pattern but the max head size and shape.

Bite your TONGUE. All the members here at this site are exceptional players. We can hit 1 irons all day with x7 shafts and putt like the holes are size of manholes. We can shape all shots left right low high, piece of cake. The only thing that is hold us back from from beating every Tout Players is our mental side of the game. We also decided to work behind the desk where life is better than traveling to all these exotic destinations. PSST!. Give me what they are playing because we can hit them.

I found the Triple Diamond to be the best driver I have ever hit. Till maybe the current SIM. it is still a bit of a toss up. It fits someone. Just not the guy the fights the right ball to begin with.

Part of it is my fault because I don't really know what I was expecting to see other than Koepka with a Callaway Mavrik. But I see the TM vs Cally thing is still going on and 9 out of 10 guys thinking they should and can hit the same exact driver Brooks does... ehh that's GolfWRX for ya.

Not only that but the Mavriks have a MUCH deeper face than SIM. SIM's face depth is just flat out bizarre looking for a 460 CC head. SIM is going to be SLDR 2.0 in the long run........

You forgot to add that the courses on tour are way to short and unless they shrink the fairways to 5 ystds at 360 ysrds its just not worth are time since we all 1 putt everything
